According to sources close to Frank Rijkaard, Liverpool FC have made contact with his representatives in regards to a possible managerial role at anfield.

Liverpool will give current manager Roy Hodgson two more games before they make an approach. They will wait until Napoli and Blackburn (Thursday, Sunday) and if Roy Hodgson fails to take maximum points from both games they will officially approach the ex-Barcelona manager Sunday evening.

Rijkaard who currently managers Galatasaray is day's away from leaving his post and has made it very clear he would accept the Liverpool job.

Seem sensible. The "2more games" is probably just that we will not have time to negotate anything before the weekend, and today Rijkaard resigned as Gala manager.

Because the new owners came in and said Roy has their faith and patience. They've got to give him *some* games to prove this correct, although hopefully not many.

It would be foolish to go against their word so early into a regime, even if it were to ultimately do the right thing.

Liverpool boss Hodgson appoints Alan Harper to senior scouting


Roy Hodgson has appointed former Everton player Alan Harper as a senior talent spotter at Liverpool.


Harper began his playing career at Anfield but never made a first-team appearance for Liverpool, before moving across Stanley Park to Everton in 1983. He won league, FA Cup and European Cup Winners Cup medals while at Goodison Park and later enjoyed spells at Sheffield Wednesday and Manchester City.

More recently, Harper has been working as a scout at Bolton Wanderers. However, Hodgson has now appointed him to a 'senior' role at Liverpool with a remit to identify and recruit the top British talent.

According to the Daily Mirror, Harper will report directly to Liverpool boss Hodgson.

So he's about to get sacked is he?
 
We need some more talent spotters. I went to see Tranmere's youth team in the youth cup a couple of weeks ago. One of their centre mid scored two 30 yarders, set a goal up and ran the show. Surely Liverpol have looked at the lad? Maybe not. Oh well, maybe i just caught him on his finest day.
 
I received a text last night from a very good source that Roy is going on Friday. I understand that he actually offered his resignation and they have considered it for 48 hours and that there will be an announcement on Friday. The information from the guy who works in admin at the club is usually very good. I don't usually post the info but this just seems like good news.
