I'm really on the fence with this deal. I know nothing about him bar the fact he had an average game in the Uefa Cup final. We need a LB and he's a highly rated 20 year old going to the WC with Spain, which alone is impressive. My first choice would be Felipe Luiz but that isn't happening so I suppose we should be in favour of this move right?
Better for us. Both from a negotiating standpoint and keeping him fresh for LFC.
Really ? Never understand why people change monikers. If you're a cunt it'll soon become obvious (as will your previous 'persona') and if you are well-liked and respected, like Sunny, then you are going to lose some of that accrued goodwill.
Or maybe 'Sunny' is now being sponsored by his favourite food manufacturers.
We're still not quite at the point where we can compete for the best players in each position, I think, and by that I mean compete against the richest clubs who have no problem spending the money on fees and wages. So the players we're going to go for may have some level of a question mark against them, especially when there's a relative paucity of talent in that position (as I feel there is in full backs generally - how many really good full backs are around?).
So I think whoever we sign at left back, people may have a few doubts. The plus points about Moreno comes (for me) from his age, the fact he was close to the Spanish WC squad and that fact that, being Spanish, he should have come from a relatively technical football development background, which should make him a better fit for us.
But who knows until we see him (if he signs) playing in the league. I thought Aspas would do well.

I enjoy seeing Rosco's view on the commercial side of things as it is a good critical view that is often left unchartered however I think Lipton Iced Team is one person whose contributions you shouldn't really question. I don't remember passing on of info but surely he is doing it to the interests of the forum instead of just keeping it to himself.
Also find it hard to tell whether its in jest or not. Some quite amusing put downs!

erm, I am confused by this transfer, part of me is not fussed if we don't get him (risky amount for a player of his limited experience) but we could miss out on another alves type player.
Same here, its a shrug of the shoulders either way.
Get Ashley Cole in and then drop kick Glen Johnson out of the club and spend the Moreno money on a right back, that guarantees to improve our full back positions, buying Moreno and keeping Johnson guarantees nothing.
Moreno might turn out to be a beast but no-one can be really sure of that right now and Johnson has turned into a shambles of a player, even without buying a right back - Flanno/Cole looks so much more reliable than Moreno/Johnson.
Suppose it comes down to preference of being better in defence or attack?
