Just arrived in the post - I've been getting these since 2001 so I thought why not. Thing is I can hardly bring myself to watch it 😳

It does have a bonus disc with the whole Carling Cup so that will be good. I have a crap memory but what other stand out games were there last year? Chelsea was a goodun I seem to remember.

You stand a much better chance of getting a response if you post this in the Football Forum.

It was a borderline decision themn but I'll bow to your better knowledge.

If someone tells me to move this blame Themn. 😛

The Carling Cup is called The Capital One Cup this year.

Mortifyingly shit competition.

They could shorten it the COC cup 😉

EDIT: That doesn't make sense I know.

Well I've put it on - weird watching the whole season again. It gives you a strange impression of it as a whole. 7 games in and Liverpool have missed two penalties and hit the bar 6 times. Downing looks ok and Carroll looks a beast. Even Adam is playing well. There is some serious bad luck involved in some of the results as well. I suppose that's good editing though.

We really did have a lot of bad luck in a lot of games.

Luck had nothing to do with it. However, I can think of a few names who did.

I finished the dvd - We really were so unlucky. Watch it and see for yourself.

We were depressingly shite in a lot of games as well.

Off the top of my head:

Spurs - away
Swansea - home
Blackburn - home
Stoke - home
Bolton - away
Sunderland - away
Newcastle - away
Wigan - home
Villa - home
United - away
Swansea - away
Cardiff - Carling Cup Final

I might have to watch it tbh. I can't remember much about this season except being annoyed and downings wonder effort in the first game of the season

Honestly watch it and you'll know what I mean. I was pleasantly surprised. Massive massive amounts of bad luck. Losing Lucas in November was a huge blow.

Plus some genuinely class moments and games. Certain players surprised me as well. Does anyone remember Downing's 40 yard dribble? I can't remember who it was against but it was utter class. He skinned about 4 players and unleashed a cracker of a shot from 20 yards only for to it crash against the post. Kuyt too scored way more than I remember and as usual in important games.

First home game of the season for downing. Was a wonderful effort. If it had gone in it would have done wonders for him.

Oh yeah can this be merged with the other one I posted in the Football forum? - Themn's head is about to explode if it doesn't. 😉

It would have done. He missed out on a lot of assists as well due to the unbelievable amount of times people hit the post/bar etc. Oh and just see how many opposing goalies got motm against us! Ruddy, Worm, Hart to name at least three.

Downing coulddo a job for us because he wasn't awful, just lacking confidence.

Sadly, people are swept up in the statistics of it. If he stays, this season he'll be much improved
