He's always been someone who can score the odd goal; he is a better scorer than a creator. He definitely adds a tinge of flair to our play but he still creates next to nothing by himself. If I were to bet the house on any of our current forwards to win a final for us tomorrow, he will be the 4th or 5th choice. In view that he has 2 years left on his contract, and we cannot afford another contract conundrum, I will sell.I like Gakpo, but we were noticeably more threatening against Spurs when Diaz came on. Could be lots of reasons for that, and Gakpo wasn't having his best game having been excellent of late, but I think we also need that unpredictability that Diaz can bring. He's a great player to bring on late on as he will run his nuts off and be direct, which is what you usually need at that stage in the game. The reservation remains his end product, but he's improved on that this year.
I appreciate Diaz, and he is my wife's no. 1 for our team. But the problem that has become apparent is that he causes the mayhem with his dribbling and more often than not - he holds onto it too long or never shoots or passes in time before the ball is taken off from him. With Cody - at least he does go for the shot and he has been clutch like Diaz never has in terms of scoring when we need it most. I can only remember Diaz doing it against that Crystal Palace game where he scored to equalize for us.i can’t be arsed starting a gakpo v diaz argument but i think the latter is very under appreciated on here

i think it has been proven in the past that diaz scores his fair share of first goals, equalisers and winners. might not meet your definition of clutch but they’re usually not middle goals in routs.I appreciate Diaz, and he is my wife's no. 1 for our team. yea i was ready to chip in for a flight back to columbia or wherever his kidnappers were but he’s right to agitate, his sons pay is poorhis dad thinks the same
I’ve always been more of a fan of Diaz than Gakpoo.i can’t be arsed starting a gakpo v diaz argument but i think the latter is very under appreciated on here
I think this season Gakpo has been consistent and has continued his form from the Euro's - last season was not his fault as Klopp was playing him all over the place but in the summer it became apparent that the left wing is for him. He will in my view score regularly and that missing Mane quota is going to be filled by him. So I really don't know about this Gerorgian fella we are interested in suddenly - does not make sense to me ,another LW ?i think it has been proven in the past that diaz scores his fair share of first goals, equalisers and winners. might not meet your definition of clutch but they’re usually not middle goals in routs.
there’s a place for both these players and it’s good they’re different, dribbling and chaos has a value as well as him working his nuts off. i also think he’s our best back post finisher, he’s always diving in to get something on the ball.
obviously i like gakpo too but i don’t think he has been that consistent, he’s in form right now more than anything.
I agree with all of this. Especially if the stories are true about Rio embarrassing some of our players in training. Surely he will be getting minutes next season if he’s the real deal.I think this season Gakpo has been consistent and has continued his form from the Euro's - last season was not his fault as Klopp was playing him all over the place but in the summer it became apparent that the left wing is for him. yea that’s fair, klopp was trying to get the best out of him but regular football in the favoured position seems to have pulled the best results out of him. maybe another thing to blame darwin for…I think this season Gakpo has been consistent and has continued his form from the Euro's - last season was not his fault as Klopp was playing him all over the place but in the summer it became apparent that the left wing is for him. i think the georgian relates to diaz signing his next contract, i don’t think we’re going to let ourselves get into the position of getting diddled out of transfer fees again
maybe that was the case historically maybe it was partially a klopp thing too but i’m not convinced the new setup won’t want to run a tighter ship in this regardI don't think there is much evidence of FSG worrying about losing out on transfer fees - seriously I think they see every player as a investment for the duration of the contract and don't care if they renew or don't renew - but only IF they believe they are of major value now and will have value after their current contract expires they will negotiate with the player to extend. If you ask me - there are only two players they have valued highly in this current crop of players - VVD and Mo and in that order. I don't actually think they are worried about any of the others in nearly the same light.
Nope. That was an example not the sample size. Plenty more if you care to look. And still you use one season of a young player in a shit league as your barometer. You are using 1 player as your sample size as opposed to 7 or 8 in the case Italy. Players from Portugal have faired well in the PL.

Yep. They’ve edited him out of the training videos because he’s destroying them.Theres rumours of this???
