Liverpool related transfer speculation

As long as that MF gets rotated even if we don't buy anyone, I will be happy. The MF is where we in and lose games
From what I have read about Stiller, he seems Alonso-like in his ability to manage tempo, which is not really Gravy's strong suit. I think the two could rotate well and bring different things. Also, with Stiller on the pitch, Gavy could sometimes be used further upfield. I think we need more midfield cover, as we were quite lucky not to have many midfield injuries this season. I know it was not all luck, but there was some.

Agree we need to transition squad slowly.
Successful teams that stay together longer, win more. As long as they are tweaked and refreshed for age.

Start with a full back, midfielder, and a striker (or two)?
Next season, CB, midfielders, winger?

BUT, the flip side is, do we sell? Because we also need squad depth which we do NOT currently have. Maybe that's just replacing the current squaddies with Arne Squaddies, so he feels he can rotate?

Do you really think we would've won the CL if we didn't change about half the squad the season before? That's what really gave us the foundation to build and move forward. Getting rid of the trash like Allen, Sakho, Benteke, Skrtel, Ibe & Lucas.

2018 was a huge change up for us, January that year was also the month we bought Virg.

Ali Fabs Virg Keita + Shaq. So 4 big signings and 1 quality squad player turned up from top 4 to champions.

It's not too dissimilar from what's required now.

What bollocks.

It’s nothing like what’s required now - we’re the fucking champions with a squad that’s good enough to get us in the 80+ points range the last 2 seasons in a row (which no-one else has done) - it’s not remotely comparable to the work Klopp had to do to get us winning things again.

Nunez is shit and need replacing, Robbo is starting to run out of time and we’re a right back short.

That’s what we need to fix this window - do that successfully and we’re in with a shout of winning the big stuff again next season.

That’s the 3 main issues to solve - if we need to sign a fourth, then it’s probably a CB.

A new midfielder is going to be picking splinters out his arse and a wide forward isn’t starting in front of Mo, Gakpo or Diaz.

2 new CF’s in the same window would likely be a compromise on quality for affordability.

Summery of strongest newspaper rumours

LB are Kerkez, Hato and Ait Nuri

CB, Huijsen, Hato, Murillo (of Forest)

RB: Frimpong, Vanderson, Geertruida

MF: Stiller, Cherki, Jauregizar

Striker; Ekitike, Cunha, Sesko

Wrong again - you are using the minimalist approach - Slot said he wants to compete in all comps and to do that - we will need another midfielder, we will need another Centre Back in addition to to the LB and RB we want plus what will be the Nunez replacement.

Not addressing the weakness in our squad is also likely to see we win nothing next season. Konate's contract needs to be sorted, and I hope they sort it out between the summer or sell him. I think pay him the extra £5m a year to keep him. A 4 year contract will cost an extra £20m over 4 years, and to buy a defender of his quality will cost £70m plus wages which is way more expensive
Quansah, Kev, JoGo, Elliot, Jota, Tsimi, Steph, Cheisa, Robbo, Endo, Morton, Jota and Diaz have all been mentioned to leave by various sources
Me personally I would try to keep JoGo, Tsimi, Steph, Diaz, and Endo. Robbo probably still get a good price and his wages could go to Konate. Quansah wants more time, and if an offer came in for £30m+ I would sell him and wish and Bonnie Blue well. Good luck figuring out who the father is. Jota is forever injured and if we can get a good fee for him, I see no pint keeping him.

I don't think the rest are part of Slot's plan, so why keep if Slot doesn't want to play them?

Look, I know this can be hard for you, but selling fuck loads of players doesn’t actually address our weaknesses… it adds to them because then we need to sign more and more players - it just won’t work.

Trent’s gone, Kelleher, Nunez and either Robbo or Tsimikas are likely off - we could sell Choesa, Morton & Endo too and no-one would notice. There’s other kids that could be flogged off too.

We could utilise the likes of Badger, Doak, Nyoni and Rio more alongside Elliot & Quansah - I don’t know where the likes of Chambers and Beck are sitting- to pad out the squad for domestic cup games.

Next year we can flog Diaz & Jota for younger players. Maybe Danns breaks into the team.

The year after that we’re replacing Virgil & Mo.

Well Slot has had decent players at his disposal and steadfastly refused to use them because he’s been very clear that he believes in running a tight squad of 15-16 players rather than 20 odd rotating.

And it works - because we’re champions after being the most consistent team all season - he’s not going to change his view significantly in my opinion - Ibtjink a bit more rotation would be good, but not a huge amount.

There’s fuck all point signing loads of talented players if the manager doesn’t intend playing them - we know what needs improving and it’s not everything.

I would be contented. Couldn't pick between sesko and Ekitike however

Not sure I like the sound of that lbtjink.

How is your list that different from mine? I don't see keeping players on that Slot will not use, it will slash the wage bill. It could be the case that Slot likes a small squad... Its going to be exciting summer finding out

You did well until the last pick.
Alvarez is fucking over rated... There I said it. Honestly, Atleti over paid for him at €90m and some of you want to pay what £130m for a 15 goal striker? He isn't even the best striker at his club, a fucking 29 year Norwegian is. This in a League where the the 2nd best striker is 36 and the 3rd best is 33. Alvarez is 25, so how many years do you think you will get our of him before he begins to wane?

Those that you think are decent - are not actually good enough, that is where your problem is. You are right - we won because we were the most consistent team, but we have seen over the years that both us/city and Arsenal are more than capable of being more consistent than we were this season. In that aspect we have been lucky, and that is what has led us to this title plus the strengthing of the so called mid-teams.

lets look at signings (we have been linked to) that you strongly feel you don't want.

Me
Kingsley Coman - 29 and always injury prone
KDB - too old
Alvarez - too expensive
Leroy Sane - wage demand too high
