Liverpool related transfer speculation

I may be in the minority here. But I'd rather not block the pathway for Rio Ngumoha with a superstar signing. Would rather take a punt on Fofana for half the price who can play both wings also.

I know Rodrygo can play both wings also. But with the fee quoted, you'd have to start him

If Rio is good enough he'll get minutes. Rodrygo has the versatility to play across the front 3, and with injuries and multiple competitions, it's worth it for me. We're not getting a backup strikers so someone who can false 9 it makes perfect sense

Rio is still only 16, and we should try out best not to burn him out by 20.

We also shouldn't limit his pathway. He'll be 17 pretty much as the season gets started. Yamal lovers have him down for the Balon D'Or at the same age.

Im not saying he's the messiah. But there's a reason Chelsea fans are still furious we took their starboy. They truly believe he's their best academy product ever.

He’s selling Badger twice to balance the books so I’m guessing Donovan’s

I haven’t even started drinking yet too!!!!!

Anyway, I’m not get carried away, I’m not saying we will or even should, I’m just saying it would be kind of nice if we did, for a change.

Chelsea fans were furious borini left. Sometimes things don't pan out. If he's good enough he needs to take his chances. Yamal did. Trent did.

At least with rodrygo at worst he's salahs replacement on the right in 2 years and gakpo and Rio can duke it out.

If we were buying someone who can only play on the left, I'd agree more. Rodrygo is versatile enough to be a real difference maker over the next 5 years.

Chelsea fans were equally furious when we took Solanke from them. In fairness I liked him but it remains to be seen how good he really is IMO.

Whilst I think it's a bit dramatic to not sign a world class player because a youth player might get a little less playing time, I gotta say he's massively impressed me with the limited minutes I've seen of him so far, he's very raw, but he certainly seems to have some special about him.

Rio is absolutely sensational from what I've seen, so I do get not blocking his development. He's still only 16 though. He'll get time

What's so special about what Rio's shown so far? He may well turn out to be brilliant, but all I've seen so far is the typical zeal for attacking his full back you see in loads of young wingers. Doak looked at least as good at that when he was 16 but nobody even pretends to be excited about him anymore.

I certainly wouldn't be clearing any path for him. He's a winger, you can always find minutes for them against tired defences. He'll get them if he deserves them.

There's tales that the coaching staff deleted footage of him destroying some senior players in training.

I thought Doak was poor when he first came in. He was just running straight at defenders and was falling all over the place, I was not impressed.

However watched him against Preston he was much better, the loan time really helped. Maybe there is a player in there after all.

For the record, I think Rio is better than Doak at the same stage.

I mean if I thought Rodrygo was world class, I'd have a different opinion.

For me, he's very good. But not in that bracket.
