Liverpool related transfer speculation

Nice one. So we need to sell Chiesa and Nunez if we want to buy another, and at least one of them needs to go either way.

And presumably either Robbo or Kostas will leave as we don't need 3 left backs. If one of them goes then it's one on, one out if we want to sign any more HG players, and as you say Chiesa and Nunez will be off if we can find buyers which leaves some wiggle room.
Guehi in doesn't affect the picture as he'll be HG-AT.
You know, I think the club might actually know what they're doing here...

Yep and Calvin Ramsey would make it another non-HG player, so he’s definitely getting released, sold or loaned.

It also means we’ve got space for 1 more HG player - likely Guehi before sales.

The only thing I’d keep an eye on is the CT players - as if we sell Harvey & Morton while bringing in Guehi, we’re down to 6 HG with 3 each CT & AT.

No issue for PL - but for CL we can only have max 4 AT - so for Europe we would have 2 HG spaces but we could only fill 1 by buying a HG player - the other would have to be filled by a player at the club already that qualifies as CT.

Withe passing of Jota, I wonder if the plan has changed? I think maybe next week we start seeing departures, probably starting off with Morton, followed Elliott. Hopefully Konate signs a new contract and Diaz's future resolved

I thought Williams just basically ensured they'd get decent transfer wedge ...
I'm not sure we can bin Diaz and Nunez ... it would be very risky in light of the tragedy.
I hate to say this - but both Diaz and Nunez seemed to want to leave before the tragedy, and to be honest with a tragedy like this - they will really want to leave even more. This tragedy - makes me feel completely empty about football right now, I think of our club and Jota's face just appears in my head, any excitement I had about transfers is gone, and for some reason the start of the season is something I am dreading with emptiness rather than that usual "cannot wait for it" feeling.

Now if someone like me - who by my own admission is an arm-chair fan, who has never seen Jota other than on TV, and has never spoken to Jota is reduced to feeling like the above about football and especially this club, I cannot even imagine what the players are feeling.

To a degree I believe everyone here is feeling that way. However it was interesting listening to Mourinho who mentioned a team who also lost a player and the next season went on to the title because they wanted to do it for him.

I think it's going to be difficult to get players in at this time with the atmosphere around the club. They will also feel the atmosphere and no-one will want to be 'Diogo's replacement'.
