I don't think Kenny will do it. Why should he?
Its nailed on.. trust me..

He will be our next manager.

I knew this would happen when he guaranteed a top four finish , and it was patently obvious we would struggle and other teams were better. People have been sacked for a lot less than that.

Can you stop now?

The Mancs are already enjoying the RAWK meltdown.

We don't need to add to their mirth.
Who gives a fuck about the mancs? But yes this thread is a joke.

i just want to reiterate.., and also get this back on topic

Kenny Dalglish is to be appointed as manager with Ian Rush as his assistant until the club has found a buyer.

Reasons; the owners see it as unattractive bringing in a new manager with new ideas whilst trying to sell the club. The new owner will then be able to do with the club as he pleases, appointing new manager, etc

Also it is believed by installing Kenny as the manager our top players will stay with the club, due to the high level respect the players have for him.

Rafa has gone due to player power..

says who, you fucking blert?

Vlad:

For all of us thicko's that didn't want to see Rafa sacked, who do you suggest takes over now? What do you expect from that person next season results wise?
That is not fair Rafa I was not banding you in that, and I later apologised to Niel too.

I have no idea who I want to take over to be honest, but the way I felt last season, was anyone would be better than Benitez, and I still feel that way.
We need someone that can get inside players heads and understands them as individuals and has some sort of rapport. Someone that jumps off the bench and gets excited when we score a goal not sit emotionless scribbling notes, someone that can see when a player is having a shit game and does something about it before 62minutes, someone who will go out to roll over the also-ran teams particularly at home, someone who could see that relying on Torres alone to score goals was sheer folly, someone who knows what players best positions are, someone who knows what players worst positions are, someone who knows what his best team is, someone who does not change the whole formation to accommodate his favourite player.
It's not rocket science, it's a simple game, over complicated by fools.

At the risk of sounding patronising I have felt for you in particular since the news broke old lad

Sorry Vlad i'm feeling a little touchy today.

Lets just hope we get it right hey?

I never thought I'd see the day where Kenny's return to the helm was the most satisfying and pragmatic option.

Clearly the weaknesses are that he doesnt have a scouting network,a nd mat well be out of touch with the demands of modern day management. The upside is, we dont have any money to spend even if he did have targets, Gerrard will never walk out on Kenny, and he intrinsically knwos the club, and has its long term interests at heart. Plus, big uplift in supporter morale

Kenny Daglish is to be appointed as manager with Ian Rush as his assistant until the club has found a buyer.

This is pretty much nailed on.
I could live with that. Better than having Roy Hodgson.

And honestly, I wish everyone would stop bitching at one another on this thread.
Dalglish over Hodgson and O'Neill every time.

That's sick.
I don't like the idea that player power has pushed the manager out, but I think there might be a fair bit of truth in it. Like I've already said, I'm convinced (and of course I could be wrong) that Rafa had lost many of the key players, many of whom have been considering their futures, so the board made a decision that they'd rather lose Rafa than the like of Gerrard and Torres. And I agree with the outcome, if indeed it means they will stay, but still don't like the idea of 'player power'.

They were showing footage of the England players landing in SA this morning, Gerrard and Carragher were both at the back on their phones we they rest of the players marched ahead.

I think Vlad mentioned earlier in the thread about the timing of the announcement coinciding with Gerrard being linked with a move to Madrid again. Could be a coincidence, but who knows. I just hope this means they all stay.

If it is the case then I can only think new owners are being put in place, it could only be for a couple of weeks.
Is this actually info you have heard or a strong hunch Jonno?

thats the key words in all this!! Bringing in Kenny and give his background with the club will bring in stability till the club has been sold, It will lift the players, and lift the fans.

Also when you think about it Kenny's and Rushes recent appointment, makes you think the owners have always had this in mind, if Rafa was to go or be sacked.

The thought of King Kenny possibly ruining his reputation - and risking his health - by struggling at a job he hasn't done for more than a decade is more horrendous IMO.

Still, it would give us a short-term boost, I guess.

he'll be under next to no pressure. he won't be in the job long enough to ruin his reputation and the fans wont expect much from him anyway.

Bit of a longshot, but has anyone considered that the owners might be sacking Benitez at the request of imminent new owners, who don't want their first action at the club to be one that risks upsetting a large faction of fans?

Maybe we're getting a new manager for new owners.
It has been raised a few times during the debate, and has some logic and merit Buddah.

Wouldn't that be something! A new beginning all round. New owners, manager and player investment? Certainly too good to be true in all this gloom. Still we live in hope!
I don't see how it can ruin his reputation, tbh. His job will be one of few major decisions. He'll be here less than a year, unless he does extraordinarily well. He won't be buying players as he won't have much money and nor will he be making decisions about players who are leaving. As you rightly say, it will give the club and players a major boost and should improve performances. And let's face it, improving on last season wouldn't take much.

Does all this come naturally to you or do you have to work really hard at this?
He fucking promised he would finish in the top four and everyone knew he could not do that, probably even people like you. No manager, in sport or industry should give a guarantee they can't keep, otherwise they face the consequences, and look stupid.
