Yh whenever its been him and lucas in the midfield area, its been he who has excelled forward to try and provide for the front 2 players, his passing has been much improved this season.

Have you noticed that the Captain seems to be playing in midfield today?

Ultimately, it means gerrard is being pulled back, not playing in his favoured free role behind torres. Instead he has to assist lucas in breaking down the play and allowing benayoun to be making the runs and passes for Torres.

Ideally, in the current situatioon you'd want mascherano playing, regardless of whether its against lower opposition.

This really worries me:
Degen, Dossena, Spearing, Ngog, Voronin, Kyrgiakos.

If we need our bench today, we are truly in trouble

Benayoun is nicely suited to this role. We should be looking to stamp our authority on games like this and swat them aside.

So 4-4-2 ?

                        Reina

Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Insua

Flossy,      Lucas, Gerrard,    Riera

                    Kuyt, Torres

orr 4-2-3-1 ?

Reina

Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Insua

Lucas, Gerrard

Kuyt Flossy, Riera

, Torres

Dossena for Riera 67mins
Ngog for Benayoun 75mins with Kuyt out wide
Spearing for Gerrard 80mins - if the game is effectively over.

Gerrard has linked wonderfully well with Torres in the 4-4-2 previously.

People place *so* much emphasis on systems and ignore the fact that worldclass players always find a way to combine.

mentally or physically?

Calm down guys. Obv not delighted to see Lucas on any team sheet, but that team should obliterate Burnley.

I don't think he could be bothered to get up today.

Although, as a footballer, he has plenty of potential...

Haven't Burnley knocked us out of the cup twice?

And they've already beaten United.

They're capable of getting something today and we can't afford to slip up.

Any stream/Sopcast channels up and running yet?

Iraq goals is being a tosser.

History is no predictor of the future & their away form is the exact opposite of their home.

Lovely picture on sopcast channel 74175 for me... but that's all it is. A picture... it's very stop/start. You may have better luck.

"History is no predictor of the future"

Seriously, what the fuck? Everything we base anything on comes from the past and like it or not, there's evidence suggesting we should be slightly concerned.

But fine, we'll smash 'em, blah, blah, blah.
