Couldn't see a match thread, Team for tonight is below. Don't know whos in goal but heres the rest

Reina / Cav, Darby, Carra, skrtel, Insua, Kuyt, Stevie, Lucas, Aurelio, Ngog,Torres

i don't know take a closer look.

the probable goalkeeper is rubbish
the 2 full backs are rubbish, and the 2 centre backs have been seriously out of form
one winger is rubbish, and the other is playing like rubbish. 1 central midfielder is rubbish beyond belief.
1 striker is rubbish
 
Taking it seriously, thank God. Be interesting to see N'Gog up front with Torres.

We're playing Reading.

Cav/Insua/Aurelio & Ngog aren't rubbish either. You can have Lucas though.
 
don't underestimate reading, and don't overestimate our own players. the difference between top teams and rubbish teams is most evident in attack. if reading put their mind to it and work hard, then in defence they can be just as good as we are if not better.

no defender is going to go "oh im playing for reading, im going to play you onside, or im not going to make a tackle or close you down". that doesn't happen. we're going to struggle to score if our team and our players perform to their usual standard.

I find it hard to believe that Darby is starting ahead of Degen - however:

Cavalry

Darby, Carra, skrtel, Insua

Kuyt, Stevie, Lucas, Aurelio

Ngog Torres

is pretty woeful.

Kuyt is NOT a Right Midfielder - he's okay on the right of an attacking 3 but not wide right in a traditional 4-4-2.

Darby is fourth choice (for me) behind Johnson, Degen & Kelly

Aurelio is our only real option at LW which just shows how poor we are in that role. If we had a real LW I'd prefer Aurelio at LB

We are going to create VERY little with this team.

but i wouldn't trust our players to do that, and neither should you
 
That's too pessimistic IMHO. Two up front, Stevie coming through from CM and Aurelio's use of the ball (which is excellent - not all LMs have to be twinkletoed wingers) could work pretty well. My concern is more about the players' lack of experience of playing in a 4-4-2.

On reflection you may well be right. I think that could actually suit him better than playing lone wolf up front.
 
i was hoping to see pacheco too.... is it still on? i just read in the times that loads of games are being postponed and it was quite confusing the way they wrote it
