[article]Liverpool, Leeds and Brighton are battling to sign Motherwell’s highly-rated teenage defender Sam Campbell.

The trio have had bids accepted for the 16-year-old, the PA news agency understands.

Campbell is yet to decide on the move with all three Premier League clubs trying to persuade him to join them.

Crystal Palace are also monitoring the situation but the Eagles are yet to agree any deal with Motherwell.

Crystal Palace are also monitoring the situation but the Eagles are yet to agree any deal with Motherwell.

He may remain in Scotland with Well keen to keep him and the Fir Park club have offered him a three-year deal to stay.

They are likely to be able to offer Campbell a quicker route to first-team football but face a battle to keep him from the English top flight.

Campbell is yet to make his first-team debut but has impressed at Motherwell and was playing in their under-18 team when he was just 14-years-old.

He joined the Scottish Premiership side in December 2018.

Motherwell are eighth in the league having won two of their first eight top-flight games of the season.

Stephen Robinson’s side face Hapoel Beer-Sheva in the Europa League third qualifying round on Thursday.[/article]

[article]Liverpool are planning to invite Motherwell starlet Sam Campbell to their training ground in order to beat the likes of Leeds to his signature.

Campbell is a teenage defender who is yet to feature for Motherwell’s first team, but has been progressing quickly through the youth ranks. He made his debut for the under-18s four years ahead of schedule, at the age of 14.

Now aged 16, Campbell is ready to leave Motherwell, who have received a number of bids for their starlet.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are serious in their pursuit of the teenager. In fact, they will hold talks with him shortly after Motherwell accepted their bid.

The Premier League champions plan to give Campbell a tour of their Anfield stadium and Melwood training ground. They think they can convince him by outlining their plan to integrate him into their under-18 setup, before allowing him to progress to the under-23s.

Motherwell have also accepted a bid from Leeds, who similarly want to give Campbell a tour of their own facilities.

And there is a third interested party from England, with Brighton also keeping tabs on the situation.

Campbell will almost definitely be on the move shortly, having rejected a contract extension at Motherwell. The Scottish side were willing to offer him a three-year extension.

The centre-back has not yet decided where he sees his future, but will be allowed to visit any club that makes a successful offer.

Reports earlier in the week suggested Crystal Palace were also eyeing him, but they have not made a bid.

The other three suitors all have, though, meaning Campbell could soon call time on his Motherwell career. He has been with them since December 2018.[/article]

That's a bit low but Edwards will fix it!

[article]Former Switzerland coach Ottmar Hitzfeld has urged Xherdan Shaqiri to leave Liverpool.

Hitzfeld, who managed Shaqiri for the Swiss national team until 2014, says his former player needs to move on in order to be 'happy'.

He told Blick: "Xherdan should move to a club where he will be playing regularly.

"He must be happy again, we all want to see a happy Xherdan again. A change would be good for everyone around him and his fans.

"A Premier League club with a solid midfield would be a good step, or at a Bundesliga club such as Gladbach, Leverkusen or Wolfsburg.

"He needs to gain a foothold again and get match practice."[/article]

[article]Loan interest is arriving for Liverpool centre-back Sepp van den Berg.

The Liverpool Echo says scouts from clubs up and down the Football League made their way to Prenton Park on Tuesday night to watch the young defender in action after learning he would start in the EFL Trophy game for Liverpool U21s against Tranmere Rovers.

He was the clear leader of the defensive line for the young Reds in an unfortunate 3-2 loss.

The 18-year-old made a number of excellent tackles as the home side threatened and was a significant presence in the game.

Van den Berg is also attracting attention from teams in the Eredivisie and Bundesliga 2.[/article]

LFC has probably urged Shaqiri to find another club...

Surely Southampton can afford a 20m signing, although I don't remember them selling anyone this season for once

Most media now saying this has collapsed, we rejected their final offer.

With Shaq potentially leaving, we will keep Wilson until at least January unless an offer comes in that's over the top..

Not that I care deeply about this, but we are ruining this man's career
