Loic Remy

Nothing to do with his knee from what I am being told. . The 4 medicals he had failed have been to do with his heart

Twitter ITKs have been going on about his knee. They might be right or they may well have confused him with Demba Ba.

Lots incorrectly pointing to Remy's knee. Not the case. He's had issues with medicals before due to a heart problem.

Gutted a bit actually. I dont think we were going to make a marquee striking purchase and I thought he was going to be a decent buy overall.

I'm also a bit disappointed about the deal falling through. Presumed he was ours. It's like chatting to a girl you fancy for an hour before finding out she has a boyfriend. Well that was a waste of time.

Surely they already knew he had issues given that he's failed medicals before?

How does it get so far without them being prepared to take a chance on him?

Very very odd.

Borini had better not be his replacement (on account of him not being very good, ya'know).

Shame for the lad as well. Not only is his move up thwarted but he's also suffered a bit of reputational damage and it's going to be a brave club who'll take him on, on anything but a per game basis.

A bit gutted as I think he'd be a good signing.
You can understand the club not going through with it if a heart specialist advices against it.
Will be interesting to see if Everton or Spurs take a chance on him.

Cheers to everyone for the warm welcomes!

As said above, however much of a blow it is for us, it's huge for the player. Especially given the fact that he will probably work out more expensive for anyone outside the top four with that clause in the contract.

Will Origi go back to Lille on loan now or will the Remy deal falling through impact that decision in any way?

Llanna has some issue with his heart too

At the age of 17, Lallana suffered a heart scare when a training monitor picked up an irregular beat. It showed his resting heart rate could surge to 230 beats a minute. He could not play until he underwent successful keyhole surgery.

“There was a small chance that things wouldn’t go according to plan,” said Lallana. “But I was young and part of me didn’t really understand what might have happened. I had a good family around me, a good group of friends who helped me through it. It was just frustrating I couldn’t play.

"I felt fine, but I had this irregular heart beat that stopped me playing for a bit. I underwent a minor operation that corrected everything and I’ve not looked back since.

“I’ve had regular check-ups since and everything’s absolutely fine. I’m very thankful every session gets looked at and analysed, the heart-rates get looked at every day and all the data is assessed.”

Presumably after Muamba the insurance has demanded tighter testing about these things, but as has been said it's a bit odd he's got through recent transfers.

It's more like getting her home and realising she has a false leg.

Could it be that he's cleared to play but the insurance wont cover anything if something heart related happens?

If it's a hole in the heart as rumoured, then that's fair enough. While managable, it can have bad side affects. Like a stroke.

So we didn't know about the other 3 failed medicals before then ? WTF ?

£8.5m ... just double your insurance FFS, I'm sure we'll still have saved plenty over the £20m deal to replace him.
