We don't appear to have any Steady Eddies at the back.. They all have a mistake or two in them..

Up until last the season before last that was definitely not the opinion on here......he had a sketchy last season where his injury problems that he had early in his career seemed to reappear. We cut him loose at the right time, but to say he wasn't a good defender is revisionist bullshit. Utter wank post.

Who said he wasnt good? Who is revising anything?

We had him for years, he just went to cock the last few years, which is why we tried replace him and keep Skrtel. That's not just my opinion is it?

I don't think he was that terrible today. It's at least refreshing to see a defender attacking the ball on a regular basis.

He needs to cut the individual mistakes, but part of that will change with better communication and a greater comfort level.

Lovren-Skrtel is clearly the best combination we have at the moment, so it's pointless cribbing about it. Defenders and keepers are the sort who you need to judge over a season.

Let's stick with this, get Valdes in for Mignolet, and Can available to challenge for the DM position, and we might start looking more solid at the back.

Yeah...no doubt Lovren will improve, but the point is he needs to improve drastically. He seems like a good player who will benefit by playing in a settled line up, and right now he hasnt got that. But that excuse applied to Agger last season as well and he also had a injury riddled season in addition...this is what people had to say about Agger at the start of season. He has by no means been shit for three seasons....which is a over the top revisionist bullshit and i have no qualms about saying it is so.....


Lovren still has a very very long way to reach the level or eclipse Aggers level for LFC. Aggers partnership with Hyypia and Carra has been a very tasty one and we have had many memorable moments. Agger and Skittles although didnt have the consistency as the other two partnership, there have been times where it has been immense. Not the leaky shit we are seeing now.

He made a rash stupid challenge leading to the penalty.
He made a piss poor clearance header all of a yard straight to a Brom player on the edge of our box.
He completely lost Berahino in the penalty area allowing him to have a free header.
It is the kind of shit that drove me to despair with Agger and he only started to do all of this towards the end of his time with us.
Agger wasn't good enough to continue playing for us and unless Lovren improves big time he wont be either.
Oh, and it appears that he is a shouter rather than an organizer, not necessarily the same thing.

Ball watching and his inability to actually hold his position under a high ball is massively worrying.
If he sorts that out he'll be fine as his tackling and ball distribution is quite good.
