Maybe they did. The man himself has said in an interview that there were various teams in for him, but when he heard we were one of them he wanted to come to us. I know "they all say that", but I'd be very surprised if we were the only major suitor he had.

Be careful lads. This could all become very Torres-ish. It all sounds terribly familiar. Hope I'm proved wrong though.

Having Suarez for an entire season is an exciting prospect. If we can buy another attacking player of high quality, we'll be a very dangerous side.

if we can get another suarez type player then we'll have the most sumptuous, sexy attacking football seen for a quite some time

I really wish that player is going to be Keisuke Honda!

I love him, absolutely love him. A born winner, great personality, tremendous skill and seems to have the mindset that this club needs and its supporters relish. A brilliant signing so far.

I thought we have Andy already? Oh wait, that 50m was burning a hold in our pockets so we had to pay double for him.

I mean a creative attacking player, not a spearhead. Big Andy will be great for us next season. I basically want us to sign Neymar and stop the fucking around.

Let's get Torres/Tevez/T????. Only 50m a pop.

I'd rather have Neymar. Or Sanchez, I'd take Sanchez.

Yep. As wonderful as Torres and Tevez are, we need new blood and everyone now knows too well the mental shortcomings of Tevez and the 'workrate' of Torres. Nando will be back in Spain soon enough anyway I reckon.

What do you reckon about the Charlie Adam deal, Doc? All's gone quiet on that front and we seem to be getting linked with other players in the same position.

With the movement Suarez and Kuyt are providing at the moment, I think it's fair to say that the need for a creative CM to help unlock teams is less of a priority than it used to be.

I personally think it is a done deal. He'll be signed.

Lucas and Spearing seem to be making a good job of it, but I thought at times against Newcastle we were wide open in the middle of the park and weren't really getting a foothold in terms of maintaining possession, which might get found out and exposed a bit by better sides in the longrun. I still think we need someone in there who will help control the momentum of our game and be a bit of an assured influence.

Dirk Kuyt believes Luis Suarez has already shown he is capable of developing into one of the Barclays Premier League's best ever imports.

The Uruguayan has earned instant hero status on the Kop - and Kuyt admits the former Ajax star is a delight to play alongside.

"There are few players to come from abroad and settle like he has done," said Kuyt.

"It has been said before, but we speak in Dutch together on the pitch. But Luis's English is not bad either and that has helped him settle quickly.

"Although we are different players and offer different skills to the team, we are also both hard workers. Kenny has emphasised to us that he wants us to press high up the pitch and that has suited us."

Luis Suarez's star is on the rise at Liverpool.

The Reds have just released their new away kit for sale.

And Luis Suarez is the most popular for fans so far, with more than half of those requesting a name picking the new No.7.

Next up is skipper Steven Gerrard, followed by record signing Andy Carroll.
