Miscellaneous - liverpool thread

Oh sorry for my choice. What would suit your point more? Pensioners for example? Or part-time ornithologist? In this case you're correct.

You come up with the attention the job brings? They seek it, FFS. And so you musicians, politicians etc.

If we're talking about 99,9% of the 'normal' population then

Teachers
Police Officers
Pilots
Air Traffic Controllers
Military Personnel
Costumer Service

on top of my head these are all way more stressful than what these overprivileged, overpaid, badly tattooed brats with shite haircuts have to do.

Being a professional footballer may be stressful at times, I give you that. But this is NOTHING compared to what Average Joe has to endure, not only for 90 minutes maybe twice a week.

Yeah, thanks. I’m out as this is getting a bit weird.
Life is stressful for most people.

Merry Christmas.

In terms of the small factors I was talking about. Virgil gave an excellent interview to The Times.

Virgil van Dijk on Diogo Jota in an exclusive interview with Paul Joyce of The Times:

"Diogo meant a lot to me, to the team, to the club. I think that’s pretty obvious, first and foremost, as a person. He was an incredible person. With the way he was and behaved, he didn’t feel like he was from Portugal. The lads said he was more Scottish — McJota!"

"He was hard-working, team-oriented, always 100 per cent whether he played or not. I said many times to him that he could run through players like Luis Suárez."

"There are moments when it is tough because, like I said, you will remember Diogo whether you are prepared or not, whether you can cope with it at that time or not. It’s about how you then react, and the boys have been outstanding.
The senior boys have discussed it and we want to obviously honour his legacy, not only for the next year, two years, three years. He needs to be remembered forever and that’s something we’re going to discuss with the club, how we’re going to be able to do that."

"We have his locker here at the training ground, we have his locker at the stadium. The memorial at the stadium is coming. But I think we can do a lot more in terms of remembering him, and that’s something me and the senior boys will be looking after. And I feel that responsibility in order to make that happen, too." (The Times)

Good god indeed. There is no discussion. You talked crap and it got pointed out. That's about it. But you're right, it's pointless.

It's all relative though, no?

Most of these guys live in a bubble and their stresses will be totally different to those of a 'normal' person sure but stress is still stress.

That said, I don't see the fallout from Jota's death being a major factor in our shitness.

The rot had started to set in last year and I think there is broad agreement that the issues are systemic rather than just certain individuals not performing to their potential.

I've no doubt that it has affected the team, but the team also has a wealth of psychologists and support.

I appreciate it's shite, but no other industry offers the support that football gets
