I have a suspicion we won't get much of a fee for Mo if we sell in January. From a buyer's perspective, they will assume that we want to get him out of the club because:
(a) He's toxic right now; and
(b) His wages are a massive drain for someone who isn't doing it.
Normally I'd cite his commercial value in support of the costs, but with the damage his image just took (certainly from an LFC point of view) then that value will have dropped too.
So if we assume the Saudi clubs are getting more savvy about how things work rather than throwing cash around like they did when the league first tried to raise its profile, then they'll know that they don't need to offer silly money to persuade us to let him go. It's entirely possible that Ramy and Mo know this and engineered this current situation, but that assumes he is willing to go to the Saudi League, and I'm not sure his ego is ready for that yet.
The ideal scenario for us would be that two or more clubs want him and there's a bidding war.
But if he doesn't want to go and play there then we are struggling because it's unlikely any major European player is going to pay him what he'll want, and it would need to be a club with a well-established commercial operation to get the most out of the deal.
