Mo Salah 2025/26 Season

What Isak is good at is making runs, finding space and finishing. He's just a very smart player. Heading? Did you see him during the medical. Dude is built like McMoneyman
All he has to do is jump a little with his height and win a 50/50, not asking him to do a Maradonna. Basic stuff from a fwd who wants to be the main man, I don't currently see much desire from him which was the issue. Rather throw a strop waving his hand, do something...

He's not very physical. Ekitike should have started that game. Came on, and did more in the 20 or so mins he played.

He looked more involved to me
What you talking about - he was invisible, and the way he was playing was like someone who is getting over a personal sulk because he did not start the game. Isak had a good game if you consider his current physical conditioning, lack of involvement - he held the ball up well, and lets not forget his assist for Gakpo's goal.

Yeah, and it stretches back further than this season, obviously. His npg are more a continuation, rather than a new thing.

There's a reason Szobo is comfortable at right back and that reason isn't helping us anywhere near enough.

If we can get one more purple patch from him, neat, but with AFCON, this could be an ugly season.

Our system cannot work if Salah isn't doing what he did last year.
His pace? still good but he's lost yet another step.
Cannot beat players easily - which means the defense never has to cheat to his side.
Very wasteful passer when it comes to easy passes ... but my oh my does he have some outrageously beautiful passes which I don't think many make in our team.

Is this a blip? Is father time catching up to him?
I don't know what the answer is, but unless it changes fast, the system *has* to adjust to the reality and I'm not sure if Mo works as well in that as an automatic starter/90 minute player.
should have been sold last season as simple as that

The AFCON is going to be a blessing in disguise

Also, watch Mo score a goal against Man U and take off his shirt as if the world is against him.

For Salah or us? If the rest of the team was doing well then it could be seen us a blessing for us but currently other players worry me more for multiple reasons. He is 33 and can leave for easier leagies. Anyway, I don’t really much criticism of Salah in news or elsewhere in other fan forums at same level.

I don't get why football fans feel the need to constantly put down players over every single mistake. Even when winning the league, Liverpool fans were moaning, it's like no one lived through the Roy years

So we can't criticise players underperforming? Difference between under Evans and under Slot, is that at that time those players were mostly muck or past it. This is supposedly the prime for a handful of players. Feel like we're allowed to be a bit fucked off

Think he means Hodgepodge.

I think there is a point where you we can legitimisly criticise without the venom and abuse.
After all, this isn't a new signing. He's been with us for 9yrs. Wonder how Barnes of 94 who played CM or the Gerrard of 2014 would have been treated here now.

Evan’s had a brilliant team in 95/96 and 96/97.

I still hold sizable hope that Salah will improve and that this isn’t just his new normal, at least from an attacking perspective. He’s proven people wrong countless times before, and while he evolved last season into more of a creator, which we arguably need right now we've lost Trent and have two excellent number nines.

That said, if his end-of-season numbers don’t justify his wages, impact on the team’s balance, or off-the-ball work rate, then the club simply has to cash in next summer. In hindsight, last year might have been his last hurrah, but given his output and the risk of losing him for nothing, I understand why the club made the call to keep him. However, if the decline becomes clear and the cost remains huge, both financially and on the pitch, choosing not to facilitate a sale this time would be much harder to defend.

Defence and GK weren’t all that.
Jsmes was a regular England international and because his form dropped off later in his career he got a lot unfair reviews of his entire time here.

Our backline of Jones, Mark Wright, John Scales and Stig Inge Bornybye were solid with Babb, Matteo and Harkness as back up. Wright as an England regular and Jones was one of our best right backs ever. Of course our midfield and attack was outstanding but to say we were shit under Evans is rubbish.
