Mo Salah 2025/26 Season

Not sure if this was mentioned, but I thought it was strange when he said he didn't know why he wasn't playing. Did him and Slot not have any conversation on it?

To me that reads as though he actually has a perfectly clear idea and just doesn't want to say what it is.

Dunno if it is. Just have this feeling that other managers might have seen this coming, and headed it off before it happened. Maybe it was inevitable.
yea there probably were different (better) ways to skin this cat. also maybe slot and even klopp before him made this inevitable by never resting him and placing him in this position.

imo in 99% of scenarios mo or his dickhead agent start trouble

I have no doubt that assurances were made to him in summer but he’s been playing like dog shit and it’s up to the manager to have the conversation and ensure everything is still respectful and harmonious as can be.

Salah has come off looking like a petulant child but I also wonder what’s been going on in the dressing room. It kinda sounds like Slot hasn’t been very effective in communicating his ideas (we can see that on pitch).

Szobo’s comments about players giving 100% might be innocuous or again could hint at dressing room problems.

There shouldn’t be any way back for Salah after this but it’s also crystal clear Slot is done.

If Mo is sold next month, is there any better way this could have gone for the club from where we were this January?

Of course for us (well, most of us) the best outcome would have been Mo scoring in every game and us winning, but if I was a spreadsheet guy working for a private global sports, marketing, media, entertainment, and real estate investment company...
Mo is worth so much commercially to the club. Selling him would be way down the pecking order of preferable outcomes but it may end up the only viable option.

Almost every player has declined this season. In fact, you could say only one hasn't. Only one new signing has done well. But yeah, you have a great track record of being right so...
Allison, Robbo, Bradley, Dom, Gakpo are all better this season than last.

I really do think he’ll transform the defence for whoever is in charge when he arrives.

I still fancy us to win the CL.

You could maybe make some argument for Ali, Robbo and Bradley, more likely they are similar, not really better or worse. But Gakpo?

😂😂 maddest take I’ve read …..still at least it gave me a laugh on a Sunday morning.

Ali, Robbo and Bradley have had large spells not playing too. That's before we even analyse their performances. He's mental. But we knew that already.

He’s one of our top goal contributors. Of course people might see him differently.

Ali Robbo and Bradley I don’t see it even as a discussion.

Obviously Salah declining from last year, losing Diaz and Jota and even the energy of Nunez has been felt but really the biggest decline by far is at CB.

We’ve been garbage bar and large.

Salah would have been better staying quiet, going to Afcon and once back, focussing on recovering his form with a new manager. He wasn’t playing well and shouldn’t have entitlement to demand to start just like anyone else in the team currently. A bit of a stupid move, don’t see anything good coming out of this apart from it again taking focus away what needs to be fixed.

Rather than us talking about another organized shambles, talking about a player who didn’t again play a single minute. Slot is a coward but Mo should have shown quiet dignity, he should be above this. Maybe he feels entitled, maybe this his way of caring too much and going against management and that includes Slot and Hughes. Would be a sad way to finish his 10yrs at LFC.

He is, but he also was last year, his record this year is worse than last year.
Last year Salah was on God mode, Diaz was flying and Jota was contributing. We’ve were also pretty much unbeatable.

For me, with the context of everything going on he’s doing more this year.

he would have but some people are just super reactive and/or emotional about things that are important to them and just can’t help themselves. i bet he’s been bending his wife and agent ears about it non stop.

TBH, if he had then so what. We all have a moan about work at home but but to take it public is all on him and if calculated, his last play. He should just have gone to Afcon and thought fck them, we would still be shit once he was back.

Maybe Salah knows he's totally done at this level, but also wants to manage his brand and get a big story when he moves to Saudi. Then it's not about him being finished, it's about him moving cos we pushed him out and Slot's a knob.

This doesn't affect his legacy for me, it's not his fault his legs have gone.

If we don't sign a right-winger and a CB in January though we are gonna limp to the conference league

he should have but he probably can’t help reacting in whatever way he can to ‘fix’ the situation. saying that though every time his agent has acted a cunt it’ll have been with salahs blessing so maybe he is more measured than i assume.
