Mo Salah 2025/26 Season

It's a bit of shame if he didn't just leave last year and the over reaction to his comments on that interview related to his contract renewal midst of his purple patches as I'm sure we would be doing great without him this season. Bit of a shame we judge on now and his current wages and not factor in what he has achieved with his 10yrs years with us to get to that 400k salary. Regular match goers still sing his name despite the shortcomings. If this is his final season with LFC then he gets to leave with a deseriving send off on last game of the season by the away fans.

I'm starting to base my dementia test on whether I can remember when Salah was good. I got a little glimmer of something I remember from a dream for about ten minutes this evening.
The old Salah certainly showed up in spurts tonight.

Goal, assist, won the pen, beat players with trickery, beat players with pace, linked up well and tracked back.

Hopefully we see this for the rest of the season.

it doesn’t matter either way. I missed the game but reading the post match thread on SCM and wouldn’t have known he even played. Only because I heard elsewhere he did OK.

That’s because he was shit first half and in the second half got the better of a rookie.

Yes he did. There was a comment in the match thread about how slow he was. Here’s a message I received at half time about Mo.

“It's so fucking sad watching him now.”

Funny I never got those messages about Rush or Barnes in their twilight.

Mo was not shite in the first half. He certainly did some shit things but he also did some brilliant things and was a constant outlet.

His best game since his return and could have had more.

Ok so he got better of Mo first half but Mo got better of him second half I assume, I don’t see that as a thing to judge him harshly on then if that was a constant.
It’s only sad, if you are judging a man on 10% of his LFC career. I didn’t feel sorry for Barnes playing CM as he could no longer play on the wing and nor for Gerrard to get beaten 6-1 by Stoke on hos last game after 15yrs or whatever with us. Would say that is on the person and not the player. Just try and remember the good times more as age is inevitable and ofcourse the performance drop off.

Because you were 10.

Point still stands though. I don’t remember anyone not wanting to be Barnes and Rush in playground brvause both were unable to perform in their traditional roles or Gerrard in his last 2 seasons. So why now? All those players were LFC’s top earners during that time too so doubt it’s his 400k a week either.

It’s like having kids. You don’t look back when they are being absolute fucking cunts making you question every little life choice. You remember the good times. Nowadays it’s recorded digitally.
