Sounds like the perfect replacement for Carra when he hangs up his boots.

My only reservation with Jones is his height.
He's 6' 2"
He's 5"10 mate. 180 cm.
183cm

How will it be £65m ? Jones has a release clause of £16m so we're told. Henderson will be around £15m which may rise with other tie ins. I doubt Wickham will be more than £10m. So that's more like £40m...
Hes on about Spandy Carroll.

Ï was thinking about our need for a commanding centre back. But what I've seen of Jones he doesnt get bullied by t the opposition regardless.

i don't follow...

Im just saying 65M for Carroll, Henderson and now this Jones fella....

thats a fuckload of cash on relatively normal playing personell...

as in I want some juicy foriegn star player with proven high ability for that kind of cash and not a midfielder from Sunderland and a Blackburn defender.

I don't mind as long as they turn out to be good.

Some of the best performers in the Premier League over the past 20 years were signed from ordinary clubs

neither do i! i just feel that with that kind of investment perhaps we could look at an established start player.

It's June 7th. Very, very early days.

Carroll's potentially one of the deadliest forwards in Europe...it's still potential at this moment in time but lets judge when he's fully fit and settled into the Liverpool way. He has everything going for him.

Henderson, as i've said before, i'm not 100% convinved by, but again the potential is massive. Quick, mobile and can see a pass early.

Jones if we sign him will be brilliant. Of that i have no doubt. I'll be absolutely delighted if we sign this lad. He's top quality.

Is this Jones lad Welsh?
I think he is English
Damn.
Why?

Oncy and I are worried about having the England team that will crash ignominiously out of the 2014, 2016 and 2018 major international tournaments.

We're halfway there already with Kelly, Shelvey, Maybe Henderson, Wikham, Carroll and now Jones.

Having Welsh, Scottish, Irish players is often better because:

1. The rarely even qualify for international tournaments
2. When they do, they're not the centre of ludicrous media attention like the England lads.
3. When they crash out, the whole country doesn't hate them and moan about how shite they are and how they let the country down.

So basicaly, they have summers off and relax, while England players have to work their asses off every second year and get nothing but grief for it.

Of course, I think the last time the England team was built around Liverpool players we were winning European cups and England failed to make it to two WCs on the trot, so who knows?

Yea, I guess it's not the 70s or 80s any more when they had players the equal of England.

I suppose from Ireland Long and McCarthy may be interesting.

From Scotland, Adam and maybe Wilson will be good, who knows?

From Wales, I haven't a scooby. I'd love Bale and Aaron Lennon but there you're talking 60m smackers.

Lennon is English Gene. Do you mean Aaron Ramsey who is a fantastic player by the way.

Actually, when you look at 20m for Henderson, you have to wonder how miuch it would take to tempt Arsenal to sell Ramsey.
James McCarthy is about as Irish as I am.
FACT

Yea, I meant plays for the country. It has nothing to do with national characteristics or anything like that - just tournaments and press coverage.

Them bastards down the East Lancs(Not Citeh) are now favourites to sign Jones 🙁 wish they'd fuck off.
