I don't think it's like space invaders really, but have a goosey at this:

Interesting difference in how they get described

Managers like Pulis came out with his baseball cap and said it was terrible just cos it was oppo fans on the pitch but there was a generally negative media reaction to the Villa one

Heard nothing mentioned about last night though... so is it the way with which you enter a pitch?

The way you enter or the division you play in? Awww isn't it cute to have the lower league fans on the pitch.

These are both the result of FA cup quarter final victories aren't they?

Weren't Villa fans being violent / taunting opposition players though?

I was listening to the radio after the Villa thing and every Villa fan calling in was blaming the opposition fans for what happened. I think they were saying the West Brom fans were throwing all sorts at them which led to people going on the pitch.

It used to be relatively common for a few fans to jump on the pitch.

Me & my mates did a couple of times on the old Kop & the stewards let you have a couple of seconds hugging the players & then pushed you back over the barrier before many more came over.

Like everything in the game, it's become sanitised, but when so many run on its clearly a massive security & safety issue.

Reading fans going on the pitch to celebrate a semi at Wembley against Arsenal is just about acceptable if you ask me. Villa was just fucking embarrassing. They must be up there for worst fans in the top division.

Reading have tasted premier in league in last few seasons so strange they wanted to have a pitch invasion for semi at wembley.

Always associated pitch invasions with staying up /avoiding relegation.

Surely the novelty wears off when its just another game
