Is there a precedent for someone (the accusor)having to apologise when there wasnt sufficient evidence to charge someone?

Ultimately, Id say what I said at the time, the physical assault on Firmino trumps any potential racist remarks made in the aftermath for me, madness that he got away with that, presumably he gets away with it until firmino or whoever faceplants a concrete step or whatever. Im not demeaning racism but he couldve quite easily seriously hurt a player with clear malicious intent..

So he was lying and his visible anger and very obvious upset was all a fantastic, improvised acting routine? Impressive. He clearly paid attention in his drama lessons.
I've made similar points as it happened, but it's not worth it.

He's a liar and a mastermind of quick thinking. Just accept that and bang your fist on the table in faux anger

It's what I've had to accept

What chance of success would Firmino have of sueing Holgate for assault. It was obviously premeditated along with the pre planned accusation to destabilize the player and club.

Oh completely. It's been months in the making, clearly

You must have been watching seriously poor acting throughout your life to describe Holgate’s reaction as ‘fantastic acting’.

I suppose in the context of him being a football player an not a RADA-trained actor it was impressive, although I didn't think I'd need to fucking spell it out, which is disappointing.
I agree that he's unlikely to be usurping Ian McKellen's King Lear, although I doubt McKellen's impressions of a Premier league footballer would be anywhere near as good.

All part of the evil masterplan. The entire incident was no doubt story-boarded at the weekly Finch Farm Strategy Meetings.

Codename: Man O' War.
No it wasn´t Clearly holgate with his tiny ickle brain thought it up awl by him-selfe.

How hard is it t o push a Brazilian into a fucking wall and cry N--------r ref OH fainghnt quille suprise.

Regardless of whether we think Holgate tried to pull a fast one, the FA press release is shambolic, bordering on slander.

So they've decided not to take action as they didn't have the evidence to prove there was a racial slur used (not that there was no evidence to suggest there was anything untoward - there's a difference), while stating that under the same dubious and unclear conditions, they can surmise that there was no malicious intent from Holgate.

The push (violent conduct) got brushed under the carpet, because the ref decided he couldn't punish one incident, when there was a reaction afterwards that had to be looked at away from the game. So it was ignored during the game and in the subsequent investigation. So a player can endanger another player and fans, but an allegation of racism prompts an ambiguous and easily misinterpreted conclusion, that is potentially damaging to the "actual" victim.

Another bit of good news is that all those "at home with" videos have been deleted now, probably because the club didn't want to be linked with further possible racism incidents

If this whole Holgate - Firmino row influenced this decision, then I guess it was kind of a good thing

So we are concluding that it's impossible for a football player to tell the same lie repeatedly to many people? They are not smart enough for it?

Ok.

You have to be kidding. The words were never used, if the FA failed to muster up a charge then the words didn't even remotely resemble what holgate heard.

To suggest that he heard something out thin air at a highly convieniant time for him, as being more probable than him being a lying cunt is laughable really.

On to a loser here. Some think he's a liar, I don't

If this was a Fulham player complaining over a Newcastle player, i doubt anyone would struggle seeing the other side

Bowing out

Will the Anfield crowd boo Holgate next time he turns up against us? Hope not - whatever we might think of him this would make our club look bad. Best thing is just to forget about the whole incident.

Probably will, and some idiot will probably shout out something racist, too, and he'll have his route up to the high ground.

Yes, but we all know it only takes one idiot. It's happened before at Anfield, sadly.
And will happen countless times in the future, as every clubs got it's cunts. We've just high profile incidents to make us look like bigger cunts

Nobody’s struggling to see the other side. Just that they’ve/we’ve concluded that, as evidence suggests, Holgate is more than likely a lier while you think he’s being truthful.
That you and a couple of others feel it takes an actor with skills for him to do what he did, while I for example have witnessed plenty of cunts that can be vindicative and lie on the spur of the moment to try to save their skin or gain some advantage. It’s schoolboy stuff. I’m actually surprised someone twisted like Brendan could be so naive, but there you go.

Evidence does not suggest holgate being a liar, evidence indicates firmino said nothing racist. If evidence suggested holgate lied then the book would rightly be thrown at him.

This is based on an interpretation from you, a Liverpool fan, on an allegation from a rival player, in a heated game, against an important player of ours.

Even on balance of probabilities you could say he COULD have lied, but that's less believable than he misheard in a loud stadium at a tense moment.

But again, no, that doesn't fit the narrative of us being wronged on race matters again.

All I know is some people are going to boo holgate like they booed evra, and that'll perpetuate the vibe that we don't like players who felt like they've been racially abused

And that's a dangerous fucking narrative to have in modern football

Anyone bringing Evra's name forward to justify any point at all has a shit case in the first place. Evra is a lying shithead cunt that deserves a massive boo wherever he plays. Even his own "fans" put an effort in making a banner telling him to fuck off from their club. He should be hit with a stick every fucking time cause he is a fucking idiot and I don't believe for a second he felt abused by Suarez. All that case was about weakening an opposition and hurt Liverpool.
