just a shame we couldn't have grabbed a few more goals

if this is Henderson developing an eye for a goal then we've got a properly good player

The other games took the gloss off this win, but it was a very professional performer, and the momentum keeps going. A nice rest coming up now too, long overdue.

That we didn't score more has to be a credit to their keeper Heaton, who kept the scoreline down with 3 important saves in the first half; this could've turned into a cricket score game if he hadn't saved those.

As we got further into the game, I had the impression that Rodgers just wanted to bag the 3 points and not worry about the goal difference between us and the Gooners / Mancs. Maybe he was still haunted by how we threw away a 2-0 lead against Leicester at home; the choice of subs confirmed that he wasn't too bothered about scoring more but just wanted to shut up shop and go home.

Sensible from Rodgers, I thought we were a little less intense in the last 20 mins but kept the ball really really well.

Yeah, but had we lost that late goal for Utd would have been even more galling.

It was a professional performance, that could have been a cricket score, in a game of the type that we have lost in the past.

I'll take that all day & night thankyouplease.

Loved the angle on MOTD that showed Hendo do his skip/ gambol when Coutinho shot in the lead up to his goal. Fucking epic! My hero

We haven't lost in the league since I made Hendo my avatar..

Did not watch. I better make it a habit not to watch. Good for my heart and good for the results. (except the EL game against the Turks).

YayyyyY

One point re. Lovren. I don't want to seem like I'm picking on him (though that back-pass to Ming was thoughtless and against another team could have been disastrous) but I wish he'd stop those 25-35m lobbed passes down the left wing that never reach their man, gives away possession every time, he did it 4 times yesterday.

And why on earth do our players keep slipping over ? Moreno (x2) Coutinho (x2) and Lallana (x2) yesterday. Maybe also Sterling and Allen ? I forget.

This may be wasting valuable opportunities or possession if it happens against better teams .... as has happened recently.

Is it the pitch ? I didn't see Burnley players slipping over. Or is it their boots ? In which case the team should be sorting this out.

Ming 6.5
Lovren 6 (see post above)
Skrtel 7.5
Can 7.5
Allen 7
Hendo 8.5
Moreno 6.5 (no end product)
Sterling 7.5
Coutinho 7
Lallana 7
Sturridge 7
Toure 6.5

N/A Johnson, Lambert

Lovren a 6 is just wrong. He was very good again yesterday, as he was against City. A few misplaced passes doesnt change that.
People have just made up their minds about him.

Can was at least an 8. Skrtel 7.5 and Lovren 7. Our whole defence was very good.

The amount of times Skrtel made clearances on his side was unreal, he is getting better, but he's definitely the weakest one out the three.
