“We don’t sign dead certs”

Why don’t we?

It’s got nothing to do with money because the “Kun Aguero, costa types” you referenced went for similar fees to what we’ve spent in the last 1-2 years. We had 100M pounds worth of signings sitting on the bench tonight in case you didn’t notice.

And I’m not a chief scout, so I’m not going to sit here and arbitrarily list players in some fantasy transfer reel because it’s subjective shite. But I can tell you that Rodgers hasn’t spent his money well, that’s not subjective, because as I’ve highlighted we’re 12th in the league, have 4 points from 5 Champions League games against mostly crap opposition, and he doesn’t trust his 100M+ acquisitions to start a must-win game. That’s the fucking evidence in front of us.

Because they cost too much in salaries, and there's usually a club more situated to winning a trophy, also interested in them. Plus we will negotiate longer to get a cheaper price. And if you are Diego costa, and you want to win things, and your agent wants to also makes top dollar, you go elsewhere.

If you've got a a manager winning things then it's different, players will be more attracted.

I agree it's incredible we've spent maybe badly *again*.

But I also can't ignore the dynamics of the transfer window that I was watching closely, when I saw those top tier players going elsewhere, despite our best efforts. And we are left to overpay for what's left, because of market dynamics, and the fact we have money in our pockets,

The striker situation is one that bears close analysis. Who should he have bought? bony? Falcao? Would Di Maria even have come here. Everyone slags off the signing of Balotelli, but what were the options?

I still believe we've signed some decent talent, I don't think he's actually spent badly. But the coaching decisions, the defensive frailty, the lack of a consistent 11, 12 or 13 isn't good.

For me, Rodgers is doing badly, but it's down to his integration of the new signings, not their talent, at this point. He's signed too many players. That's unquestionable.

If you pay up they wold have come.

Rather than 3 players on £70k per week you could have gone for a £250k week player.

I have no doubt despite what Sanchez said if you had offered him £250k per week he would be quite happily living in Liverpool now with a helicopter on stand by to bring the missus to London

Then your whole success rides on 1 or two signings, that hasn't worked well in the past either. But right now it seems like a better policy mind

Felt the need to mention that Lucas, despite having played about 1 game every three weeks these past few months, still managed to put on a decent performance.

Looked at Morse MOM thread in other forums basically everyone had Lucas in their top 3.

Sadly he is right...

Watching Sanchez last night, made me think he would of just slotted right in.. A player like that would of made a huge differance..

He is Suarez type player.. phenominal work-rate, he lifts everyone around him.. The ideal replacment.. That and the lack of Rodgers decent Coaching methods is what is missing from this side this season..

Would "HAVE"

I didn't!

*he says in a Monty Python Holy Grail what did the romans do for us sketch, type voice*

... he's so great and yet we couldn't even beat a bulgarian team with him dominating the middle of the pitch ... maybe he's not the messiah?

One 250k a week player isn't just 250k though .. it is now the basis for every other player in the squad, and potential signing, to use as a benchmark. Of course they won't all be expecting 250k but that will provide the basis for a previously 50k player asking for 100k - United are finding this out now.

I know it's not the exciting way we play football but I was ok with that attitude.

Coutinho or Lallana would have opened the game up - maybe even won it. But we didn't need to win. A draw or a win made no difference.

So instead of going for the win - which is his default approach - he kept it tight. Imagine if he'd bought Coutinho on with 25 to go and we'd been caught cold on a break. Then conceded a late winner - there'd be a lynching.

I was desperately hoping for a win; more, I wanted a big win where things started to click for the team. But Rodgers said beforehand - the result is what counts in this one. I'm glad he didn't risk it all to make sure of the win.

However as I said earlier in this thread .. once he took Sterling off all threat disappeared. We had looked likely to score a third and they were not that dangerous at that time, no Sterling and we immediately tucked our head into our shell. Then we looked like not only conceding one but two .. and could have lost the game.

You don't say.

So with them paying Nani wages whilst he is out on loan that's a silly amount they are paying for his services.

Cannot be right, surely?

If the players are putting in performances that justify those wages, then they deserve it. The problem is not how big the wages are, it's players justifying them. If we have a couple of 250,000 a week players, and they justify it, then there's no issue.

I would understand the need to mention him if he DIDN'T get any recognition in Morse's threads but he did.

You always feel the need to mention Lucas man.

I feel the need to mention that I love my kids. I haven't really said it on the site - and it's time I am true to my feelings, and express them here every hour of every day.

Hour 1 - done.

Feck, next Jono will be telling us he felt the need to tell us that he wants Rodgers out. ;)

I felt the need to tell you all... that my cat died.. I'm gutted..

My cat got fat and kinda obese and we had to put him to sleep... :(

Water retention, Vet offered Blood Test for £95 which would confirm either a Kidney or Liver failure.. Or £45 to put him to sleep.. It would of cost a grand or their abouts to refer him to a sepecialist..

The sad thing is he got so bloated the Vet couldn't find a vain...

Its really bizarre we just thought he was getting fat, he had a healthy appetitie, we even started to cut down his food. It was only when his paws started looking like Puppy Dog paws, we got concerned..

So I put my Fat cat too sleep.. Wife Devastated.. He was only 4..

However thanks to my work collleagues ribbing me over putting my Fat Cat to sleep, I haven't stopped giggling about it since..
