Cheers
Not the greatest performance from a lot of the lads today. Some were shit, some anonymous.
Definitely much better the second half, but that's not good enough against a team as poor as Newcastle.
Again we seemed to struggle against a team packing the defence, I suspect we'll see this every game now next season. Hopefully we'll have some new players to help with that.
A mention for gerrard. When he got given the captaincy I said he wasn't the right man for the job, and today proved it again. For me, a captain needs to be motivator and vocal, not just leading by example. When he's playing shit or making mistakes, what good is he as a captain then? At 1-0 down today, he needed to shout at the players, tell them we're better than that, and get them going. Instead, he moped around. No doubt is was left to Rodgers to do at half time. Gerrard has been such a hero to us for so long, I feel he's going to end his career with us being a liability. I would like to see him play a bit further forward, and have a dedicated DM behind him, but it looks like he'll finish his days in that role he's got now, a Hollywood ball spraying and set piece expert that offers little else-no direct goal threat, no pace, no tackling cover for the defence.
I love it how the armchair fans analyze the game.
If I was Stevie G, I'd probably retaliate with something like this - "Well if you think you're so good, here why don't you try being a captain instead ?"
Sounds childish but then again sometimes you just gotta go down to the level of your critics and speak their fantasy football language.

So how does it feel knowing you're more intelligent than another person on this globe ?
I think a lot of us discovered that there's a drama queen among us.
I'm not naming names.
I don't know what Rodgers' thinking was when he selected Joe Allen rather than Coutinho. Our shape was all wrong in the first half. WIth Sterling playing a central role, we were relying on Johnson and Flanagan to provide the width and they aren't good enough for that purpose. When Coutinho eventually came on about 30 minutes too late, everything clicked into place.
Loved SG's interview with Crra after the game: 'If we were scrapping for fourth spot and got the point against Palace and three today we'd be celebrating for weeks'
So true, but we weren't of course.
