Hard to give a simple answer. In one sense, no: Rushy definitely wasn't the player any longer that he had been before going to Italy, but he still scored some important goals for us second time around. In another sense, yes: we signed him because the club was in the process of binning Aldo, which WAS a mistake and one of the less admirable episodes in the club's history. Paisley, who was on the board by then and untouchable, openly criticised the Aldo signing (doing that was a disgrace and completely out of order). Aldo, being Aldo, bit back equally openly and was on his way out from that moment. He had been living his dream playing for Liverpool and the club had benefited big time. Should never have happened.
