Pre-Season deets

First impressions from training videos:

- Kerkez looks like a confident character and surprisingly more like an older brother to Szoboszlai rather than the other way around. He will slot in seamlessly.
- Frimpong is a great guy to have around a squad, very positive and making friends with everyone.
- Konate does not look like a man who is ready to leave
- On the other hand, you could almost see a text balloon with the word “Bayern” next to Diaz. He’s trying to stay calm and loose, but in his head he’s gone.
- Wirtz replaces Trent in a way as a player who’s “different” - skills other players could only dream of and a bit of a tortured genius look in the eyes.
- Ekitike looks tense as fuck. He’s talented, but this is a big step up in every way. Another reason why we must keep Konate to help him acclimatize.
- Rio has filled out in the past few months. He is amazingly strong and athletic for a 16 year old. He could be ready sooner than people think.
- Our training top looks disturbingly like a Spurs kit. Did they let Dreamy design this?

Thought he looked pretty calm and confident from the 10 mins inside training that was released yesterday. It was his first training session so it would be pretty normal to be a bit excited etc. Speaks pretty good English which will help him settle. Robbo and the leadership group are doing an excellent job at integrating the new players.

Wirtz is just on another level when it comes to skills and technical ability. In one of the videos you can hear Virgil scream out his appreciation after he has scored a sensational goal.
 
Seems strange to fly him back all that way for that. I'd imagine there's more to be gained from being with the squad and new players, for the sake of a few extra days.
 
So looks liek Szob will play right back again ... is this just pre season minutes filling or is there a potential plan to have him as cover there, I wonder
 
Slot just said he has only 19 players available, so "3 will play 60 minutes and 16 will play 45 minutes". Can't work that out unless he plans to play with 8 players for the last 30 minutes 😕

Maybe, just maybe, Newcastle have rekindled their interest in him and they want him in part of the deal
