Reds prepare £10m bid for 'new Walcott'

I haven't see Chamberlain yet but £10m for such an untried kid seems steep. For half that amount we'd probably get Wilfred Zaha from Palace and he looks to have every trick in the book and could become a huge star. He's currently on SKY sports 2 playing against Swansea if ye want to have a gander.

Oh and keep an eye on Darren Pratley in CM for Swansea, he 27 and IMO the second best CM in the division after Andy King of Leicester. He's available on a freebie because his contract is up. He's much better than Lucas and Poulsen and we should snaphim up as cover for Meireles and Gerrard.

Is the 2nd best CM in the Championship good enough for a team wanting to be in the Champions League?

I think we should dismiss 'better than Lucas and Poulsen' as a criteria because it doesnt really reduce the list of candidates.

The thing is Keni, I can't confirm he's good enough for a top 4 team because I haven't seen him play in the EPL yet but my gut instinct tells me he could be. He wouldn't cost us a penny and he's at least good enough to replace the fuck-up twins so there's no harm in giving him a bash. This time last year who knew Charlie Adam would be a very good EPL player? He has bossed this game I'm watching and IMO is certainly an EPL player.

It just about rules out bacteria, worms, and earwigs, but little else.

So why is everyone after AOC? Just because of Southampton's reputation?

Speaking about his son's future and the comparisons with Theo Walcott, Mark Chamberlain told Sky Sports News: "Arsenal, with the manager there, the way they play and how they develop players I think they are the ideal choice,

"I am his dad. I've worked with both (Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain). They've both got different attributes.

"Theo has already played 100 Premier League games for Arsenal, played for England and has scored a hat-trick. He's a really good player.

"Alexander is a little different. He's a bit better technically. He's more of a central midfielder player than a wide player.

"He's coping very well. It's all speculation. It's the time of the year when things do happen. I think if anything is happening the club will keep us notified."

Probably due to our apparent interest in English talents, the press has linked us with a move for him again. Surprisingly the other sides have yet to broker any deal with Southampton for him yet. Read today that the stumbling block is Southampton's insistence on inserting a 40% sell on clause.

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain talks to FATV about the Italy U21 game

Never seen him play. Striker, winger or attacking midfielder? No matter which club he goes to (if he does move this summer), I guess its safe to say that he'll be better off being loaned back to serve apprenticeship in the Championship and sign as a future rather than immediate move instead?
