Oscar Wendt interest confirmed by scout Jakob Friis-Hansen. We are also keeping a close eye on another Swede for the LB position with a slightly cooler name.

Behrang Safari. Don't know much about him to be honest but the few times I've seen him play he's seemed fast and technically sound.

Our outspoken scout's comment, as mentioned by KHL:

Liverpool's Scandinavian scout Jakob Friis-Hansen has revealed that the Reds are looking at FC Copenhagen's left-back Oscar Wendt .

The 25-year-old has been at FC Copenhagen since 2006 but has already said that he will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season. Wendt is the regular left-back for the Swedish national team and has added important Champions League experience to his CV this season.

Although he has previously been linked with the likes of Roma and Tottenham, Friis-Hansen has thrown Liverpool's hat into the ring.

The scout is quoted on two major Danish websites, Onside and Sporten, saying, "We are keeping a good eye on Oscar…Oscar Wendt does a great job, but he must play at a high level every week. In Denmark there are just a few high-quality games."

Wendt is not only strong at the back but also excellent going forward and is dangerous from crosses.

Friis-Hansen also mentioned that Liverpool are monitoring FC Basel 's left-back Behrang Safari . The search for a left-back will cast some doubt over the Anfield future of Paul Konchesky , signed by Roy Hodgson over the summer from Fulham.

Behrang Safari and Rod Fanni.

We're handing the opponents' fans a field day.

Behrang Safari is the most ethnic-sounding name in the world. He might as well be called Oompanagang Faraway

I meant.. Nevermind.

Impressive enough, you can go around here typing all kind of shit, and still attract questions and reactions... Pretty Cool. Now I feel like Roy Hodgson!!!!

But Insig, now you made me curious. What did you actually mean?

A lot of the brits are whiter (or is it paler?) than even us from above the polar circle.

Chelsea are rumoured interested in buying Kjaer in the January-window for a fee in the region of £12-£16M. They are also said to be interested in strong Serbian defender Subotic (Dortmund) as well who'd fetch around the same fee.

Admittedly I've only seen little of the latter but he's getting great reviews and sounds like a real prospect. Big, strong and a force to be reckoned in the air - just as Kjaer is - so perhaps we should go for the odd one out?

I'd love us to buy a big, strong and young promising defender.

Speaking of Dortmund. Have they any players we should be targeting. Are they still top in Germany yeah?

We've been linked with their other central defender in Hummels haven't we? He's an equally big fella who's enjoyed a splendid season so far.

And we've been linked to their right-back/right winger in Jakub Blasz-something a while ago too. ACtually I thought we'd buy him last Season under Rafa.

Nuri Sahin is their Turkish midfield prodigy.

Chelsea could seal the signature of Wolfsburg defender Simon Kjaer as early as Monday, according to sources in Germany.
Carlo Ancelotti has been a fan of the Denmark international for some time and tried to sign him from Palermo while he was in charge at AC Milan.
And the manager thinks Kjaer could be the man to solve Chelsea's current defender shortage. Ricardo Carvalho left in the summer while first-choice pair John Terry and Alex have both struggled with injuries this term.
Wolfsburg have reportedly accepted Chelsea's £12.5m bid for the 21-year-old, who is understood to be keen on the switch to Stamford Bridge.
