There's some majorly sexy shit on that video. He's only 22 and has plenty of mad sexy goals already. I think if we sign him I'll take a year off work, sign on, and just watch our matches 16 hours a day.

Apparently Arda Turan has yet to officially move to Atleti! This is due to the boardroom politics and the Gala fans are angry that their captain is going off on the cheap. Turan's future depends on the Galatasary presidential elections later this summer.

That Paul Thompson on twitter thinks that Mata will be our marquee signing not Aguero. He seems very confident with his info.

He thinks Mata is "marquee" enough. I personally dont. Aguero is marquee! He seems fairly well respected on twitter.

really? he specifically said aguero would be the marquee signing the other night!

tbh if we got mata and young i'd be well happy; aguero would be amazing but in the context of us signing 2 class wingers and having suarez, carroll and kuyt as forward options he'd be very much a luxury signing.

I agree, we need wingers and maybe a left back as priorities! A CM is a less of a worry as we have shown we can cope without Stevie G.

If we get Young and Aguero it Juan't Mata who else we get.

Sorry. ;D

yeah, i'd go with that. i think 2 quality wingers are the top priorities, because we really do lack pace going forward, but i think you could make a case that we're just about covered in all the other positions we're expected to strengthen: spearing and lucas seem to be getting better and better in midfield, and we have quality youngsters coming through across the defence, albeit perhaps not quite soon enough (flanagan, robinson, wilson, wisdom) for next season.

mata, young, a LB and a CB would go a long, long, way to get us challenging imo - anything else is a bonus.

He's a tease, isn't he?

how much would aguero cost? anything south of £40m, surely he would choose the likes of chelsea, barca, rm or city above us as they have CL football to look forward to. as well those clubs pay bigger wages

Reds try for Altintop
Turkish star could have English option
By Graeme Bailey

The midfielder's departure from Bayern Munich has already been confirmed and he will be leaving on a Bosman transfer.

He has held talks with Real Madrid already and is widely expected to join the Spanish giants, becoming their second Turkish import of the summer following on from Borussia Dortmund's Nuri Sahin.

But it is understood that Liverpool have made an approach to try and convince Altintop he would be better served continuing his career with a move to England.

Altintop has long been linked with the Premier League and, at 28, is far from past his best although he was only able to start eight league games this season.

Altintop is hugely versatile and can play anywhere across the midfield, which is of obvious appeal to any suitors.

It now remains to be seen whether Altintop will be able to reject the overtures of Real to move elsewhere.

MANCHESTER CITY have officially joined the race for in-demand Valencia winger Juan Mata by tabling a £22million bid.

The Eastlands outfit have spoken to Valencia president Manuel Llorente and it is understood the two parties are now in advanced talks after Roberto Mancini’s side secured Champions League football for next season.

City have been tracking Mata for several months, but only in the past week have negotiations moved on a level with City clinching top-flight European action.

Valencia are sticking to their guns over their asking price for the Spain international – they want £25m – but the fact City’s opening offer isn’t a million miles away will make both clubs optimistic they can shake hands on a deal.

Liverpool have also shown an interest, with director of football Damien Comolli offering around £17m for Mata, and Chelsea are also keen – but City lead the Premier League pack.

The only potential problem for City is that Barcelona have not yet ruled themselves out of the running, and the chance to stay in Spain would give the 23-year-old a big decision to make.

However, his close friend and former Valencia team-mate David Silva has given him the lowdown on life in Manchester and City hope that in Silva they hold a trump card.

City’s bid for Mata is yet another move ahead of what promises to be an epic close- season at Eastlands.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp said that he had heard City have already made a couple of signings “who will blow your brains out†– and Hotline understands that Udinese striker Alexis Sanchez, who is also wanted by rivals Manchester United, is one of those for whom a deal has been struck.

City would love Mata and Silva to provide the ammunition for 22-year-old Sanchez, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko.

But skipper Carlos Tevez is still widely expected to quit the club in the summer after handing in a transfer request, which he later withdrew, and threatening to retire earlier in the season.

He is a target for Inter Milan while Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is also a long-time admirer. There will be fears over the future of Adam Johnson if Mata does arrive in the blue half of Manchester.

But City will tell the England winger there is enough football in prospect with domestic and European competition.

At the other end of the scale, City are interested in 15-year-old Norwich keeper Angus Gunn, son of Canaries legend Bryan. Although Gunn senior was capped six times by Scotland, Angus made his debut for England Under-16s three months ago.
