That Paul T lad is getting on my nerves already, and its the 17th of may. Going to be a long transfer rumour related summer.

Get off twitter then Hans. 😉
I have only joined twitter, and having followed those wannabies for a few days I am well wondering why I bothered :-\

My Twitter handle is @Stulikesdrums Count
I follow loads of the LFC movers and shakers.

Kenny been talking to Baines and is confident a move could take place. Would make it easier for him if #lfc player went to them in exchange

Everytime I've seen Aguero for ninety mins I haven't been able to figure out what all the fuss was about
Me neither, pretty good finisher and erm.... thats it really... for 45M euro Chelsea can have him.

Cavani ... that would be the one for me...

I will be gutted if we get Shane long and Downing however.

Step up, Fabio Aurelio...

Yea I'd hate to have too many shit cooks spoiling the goal broth. We should just have one really.

Let's sell Suarez "Sorry Luis, you're spoiling the goal broth, our attack has too many dimensions, Lucas is confused by this array of offensive ingredients".

Erm I'm all for Aguero joining but would a front 3 of Aguero, Suarez and Carroll result in a lack of width?

Yes. But with our attacking fullbacks bombing down the flanks, plus Ming and Gerrard going out wide depending on situations, I'd imagine the idea is for the lads in the middle to distribute to them and then be on the receiving end of passes/crosses.
Suarez likes going wide as well. As does Aguero, if we get him.

I wouldn't be entirely happy with that. I don't much like the idea of depending on fullbacks for such an overwhelming majority of our attacking wing play, especially when our Plan B is Ming (who isn't much cop out wide) and Stevie (who's needed centrally). Suarez and Aguero are players who can take up wide positions but use them as a starting-point for coming inside. IMO we do need at least one specialist winger.

BTW, I think Shane Long would be a great replacement for N'Gog. Let's get some micks back at Melwood.
Long would be an excellent addition to the squad and it's a realistic option as he only has one year left on his contract. N'Gog + £2m for Long could tempt them.
Everton supposed to be interested and to be honest would probably be a better destination for him.
He is much more likely to get a decent amount of game time and develope as a player there.

If Long went to the bitters he'd be going to a club which has hit the buffers and has no apparent prospect of progressing any time soon, in direct contrast to us. Meanwhile our first choice striker has an injury from which he's not yet totally free. I see the point you're making, count, but IMO it'd be worth a punt.
Certainly from our perspective I think he could potentially be an excellent back up striker for us.
I still think that he will develope more if he is at a club where he gets to play more frequently.
Perhaps that is the Irish in me hoping that he will fully develope in order to help the national team. :-\

Who, for example?
Admittedly not an easy question to answer, but that's why the people in charge get paid what they do.

One possibility might be Johnson if (a) his head's straight and (b) we don't get quoted some fantasy price.

Long is 24 now, his next move will determine the rest of his career. I'm not sure a back up role is a good idea for him.

He is good though, but he needs regular playing time and the chance to play through some dry spells in the Premiership. I can't see that happening here.

Well, the same thought may well have crossed the minds of potential targets of ours when Torres was still around, and look how that turned out.

But it's a fair point. I accept that in Long's position you'd have to ask yourself some searching questions if we came in for you.

How would Aguero fit in with Suarez and Carroll?

I hope its not a case of too many cooks...
Quite easily.

--------Caroll--------
Suarez-------Aguero

A St-Etienne fansite Envertetcontretous.fr claim that ASSE have rejected a €9m bid from Liverpool for midfielder Blaise Matuidi.

Also claims that they will sell for €12m

I think I can see where DHSC is coming from though.

That would be a potentially phenomenal front 3, but when we still have questions marks over midfield (not so much with Gerrard and Ming comin back with Lucas/Spearing on the bench) , the flanks and centerhalf it might be a case of ill-afforded luxuries.

Any club needs options up front, and I don't necessarily see Carroll as an automatic starter. I think people are inclined to think that Carroll should start because we paid a massively inflated fee for him.

We could easily play 4-4-2 with Suarez and Aguero, and orthodox wingers.

Admittedly, if we have a limited budget, then Aguero is way down on our list of priorities. I was just saying that he could easily fit in the team if it came to it. He'd just be providing Kenny with a very welcome headache.

I thought Suarez and Aguero would only play together about a third of the time, with each one taking another third in partnership with Carroll or the Carroll alternate.

have we bought anyone amazing yet?
i havnt slept in 2 days and im considering trying to keep it up just so i start hallucinating that we've signed the harlem globe trotters
