Any news about their injuries?

This is going to be a massive blow - after some false starts, they both seemed to be playing themselves into a bit of good form, and I was hoping they'd establish themselves this season as part of the long-term core.

Now it seems we'll be forced to revert back to our old mid-table finishing core of Skrtel, Agger and Lucas again.

Obviously the squad is thin as it is, so we can't really afford injuries, but neither of these players have set the world alight since their little run in the team. They've done 'ok', it's not the same as losing Suarez/Sturridge/Coutinho. If either of those players were left off the teamsheet not because of injuries, I don't think anyone would lose any sleep.

Hopefully they've only got minor injuries as we just can't afford to be short, but knowing our luck, they'll both be out for over a month.

So the dilemma of how to incorporate Gerrard back into midfield has been postponed until Allen is back. For now Gerrad just comes back in his place.

Sakho is a loss, but we have enough quality cover. The problem is, we don't have a LB too, as Flanno is also probably out for a couple of weeks, and with the way Johnson is playing we don't have a RB too. If Agger keeps playing FB, than it's Toure-Skrtel with no cover and no alternative.

And just as we have this dire need for fullbacks, Kelly is not fit again even for the bench, which for some reason really bugs me. He is like Wayne Bridge - getting injured at precisely the moment when the team needs him.

Johnson ...... Agger. .... Skrtel .... Toure

I thought Allen looked lost today a lot of the time. He was so easily bullied off the ball.

Barrett says Sakho could be out for 2 months.
Obvs speculative but the early signs indicate it appaz

still not 100% convinced by sahko ...he's a beast but a beast with mistakes in him . But obviously he'll be missed .

Sakho is ace and he'll be missed. Hopefully he'll be back quickly as I dont want to see Agger vs Lukaku etc.

Luckily Sakho has Etoo's shirt to console him. Maybe he'll be back in time to get Rooney's after he scores against us.

I don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
People were saying that Gerrard would have a hard time getting into the side due to our midfield trio doing well.
Now that Allen is injured, he won't.

If Stevie isn't ready to start vs Hull our options are going to be VERY limited.

We'll have just Lucas and Alberto available from our CM pool. Beyond that we are looking at Couthino and Moses to drop back.

With Huddlestone finding form currently we will be in danger of being dominated by Hull at home :gulp:
