Inkoom told Ghana radio station Top Radio: "My agent is still locked in talks with my club and a scout of Liverpool and a deal could be concluded very soon.

"Nothing has been decided yet on whether I will join Liverpool on loan or move permanently.

"Liverpool is one of the biggest names in football and so if everything goes well and the Lord allows it, everyone will see where I am going and hopefully, it will be Liverpool, which will be a big step for me."

Previously linked with Aston Villa, Fulham and Chelsea.

Dnipro value the Ghanaian at around €4-6million [£3.5-£5.5m]. The right back, 22, has been the subject of racial abuse since joining Dnipro from Swiss club Basel in January and even had his house burgled.

Substitution FAIL! Samuel Inkoom (Dnipro) vs Karpaty
Liverpool target Inkoom, who had already been booked in Dnipro's Ukrainian Premier League game clash with Karpaty, saw his number put up in the 62nd minute, whereupon he removed his shirt and jogged towards the side-line.

But the killjoy official decided that according to the letter of the law, Inkoom deserved punishment, promptly sending off the confused Ghanaian before he could be replaced.

It didn't prevent Dnipro from running out 2-0 winners, but Inkoom won't be getting undressed again in a hurry.

All the more reason to credit referee Darren Deadman, who chose not to book Billy Sharp for lifting his shirt to reveal a tribute to his late two year old son after scoring for Doncaster on Tuesday night.
