He's just signed a new deal with the club!

The 20-year-old put pen to paper on the long-term deal at Melwood on Tuesday morning to commit his future to the Reds.
Shelvey moved to Anfield from Charlton in May 2010 and has made 37 appearances for the first team.
The midfielder spent time on loan at Blackpool last season before returning to Liverpool to score two goals in 16 run outs, including a stunning long-range strike against Chelsea in the final home game of the campaign.

I like this kids attitude.
Rarely hides from the ball, excellent vision and not afraid to put the boot in.
The few flaws he has can be ironed out by some good coaching.

I think his flaws come from an over-enthusiastic approach.

To me, thats not a bad thing

That was kinda my point.
His approach needs to be channeled via coaching, ala Gerrard.
I know, i just like sticking my oar in with shelvey, even if its just rewording what someone else says

The lads a maverick agent of the lord.

Like if jesus had a shotgun and the attitdue of bryan mills

One of the few bright spots from last season, glad hes tied down and hopefully gets a good chance to develop.

This should spell the end for Spearing. Shelvey, Lucas, Gerrard, Suso. That's if we've sold Aquaman. And we're also linked with this Ki Sung-Yueng lad from Celtic, who's a midfielder.

If it does spell the end for Spearing, I wonder why Rodgers picked him for the press conference?
Also, if we sell Spearing, we'd need another deep lying midfielder, a defensive midfielder so to speak.
If Joe Allen joins then we're pretty sorted in the middle.
