She's dead

Oh look. Everyone is feeding the troll again.

'Healthy food is cheap and bad food expensive'

Honestly. He lives in another world.

Im not getting involved mate. I think youre cutting a pretty tragic figure in here. You and Ian Duncan-Smith it seems.

It's hard not to look a bit tragic when a bunch of immature thick bigots are determined to disagree with whatever you say, but that doesn't actually make me wrong.

Peter shopping in Aldi. Haha. Good one. Taking lessons from Cameron and his pasties.

I don't know why I shouldn't shop there. I despise wastefulness and hate snobbery. I don't go all the time (it's quite a walk, and I'm lazy) but all things being equal I'd choose it or Lidl over Waitrose for most items.

This is much worse than the Suarez-Evra case ... I hope we don't lose too many posters because of a deceased person ... A racist Uruguayan is one thing, but a dead person?

Someone needs to drive a stake through the empty space where you're heart would normally sit to make sure though

It's a fact that in both World War 1 and World War 2, when the public's diet was severely restricted by rationing, public health at home improved considerably.

Apologies for the glib reply earlier.

Restricting or reducing calories is beneficial, it's called a diet now as opposed to rationing then, and is not very surprising is it? I think the point others were trying to make was that cheap fast food is a choice many make as it fills them up and suits their budget unless they have a nearby Aldi and an accountant with a calculator to help of course.

However...

All that said, what's it got to do with 'Thatcher's dead'?

We need to get back on track.

I don't know about you mate, but I don't like to be around bodies (for too long) and I ain't doing anything to them once their breathing has halted.

Urgh. I'm not doing it. It might bite me and I may become a true child of Thatcher, nosferatu, the undead.

I have to say in my experience, over here, fresh vegetables and fruit, especially the ones that aren't that interesting, are quite cheap. Cabbage, onions, carrots, apples, bananas can all be got quite cheap. There's a strong connection between income and health but I'm inclined to agree with peter that the reason for this is not that healthy food is too expensive.

Of course, if you're gonna go for the whole organic, fair trade, gluten free blah blah then it's really pricey.

Good meat and fish are very expensive though.

Tbf I've never ever seen an Aldi in a poor area. As opposed to, say, Hampstead, where the view from the tube station is a cluster of Scandinavian discount supermarkets and pound shops.

You are quite literally a disgrace to humanity, gene.

Eating healthier can of course be as cheap or cheaper than eaten processed or frozen meals. I don't see why this has even turned into a debate, let alone an argument.

Cooking healther requires more knowledge, but not more pence. And the fact that everyone pretty much has access to the internet draws me to the conclusion that people have no real excuse.

You can't blame the state for people getting fat and contracting diabetes. It's their own fault.

I am sure the walk will do them good . Improve the health probably .
