Should Everton fans worry?

Nah he's poo. Inzaghi had great movement and was a great finisher technically. I don't really see that in Calvert-Lewin.

Some strikers make a career out of spawny goals - Indzaghi comes to mind. As long as he’s consistent, they all count the same. Not sure anything after lockdown counts for much; he looks like a fairly consistent goal-scorer to me.

I think he's a good player, not a world beater by any stretch but he's a grafter, strong, good pace with an eye for goal. He wouldn't suit us but I wouldn't want to be a defender playing against him every week either.

Just had a look at his stats, based on minutes played he's got a goal or an assist every other game, that's pretty good for a 23 yr old in an average/permanently transitioning Everton team or out on loan.

USM (who are basically funding Everton's 'owner' under the table anyway), have just announced a shirt sleeve sponsorship of 65m per season, the highest in the world for shirt sleeve sponsorship.

Those dirty roubles go a long way.

That is insane.
They got 50m or something for 'the right to bid for the naming rights to the new stadium' from USM as well.

There will be more of these no doubt, just to keep their books looking good. They're a Russian plaything now & City have led the way in showing how to invest money.

The fact that USM don't technically own them & it's hard to proof that they fund their 'owner' (due to Russian banks, off shore funds etc) means they don't even have to hide the source of the money coming in.

Who is the source of this info?
The only thing I could find on it was from here -

And reading the thread leads me to suspect it's made up.

I’ve not been following the situation there too closely.

I know they’ve got cash but thought it was more of a Wolves type deal.

Are they another City / Chelsea in the waiting?

I've seen some Bluenose fans being more interested in James Instagram followers then his footballing talent.

Is this another season where Everton look better on paper than they actually are?

Potential team:

Notable subs or other starters:
Allan, Sigurðsson, Walcott, Bernard, Davies, Moise Kean

Kinda stacked in midfield, right? With Doucouré, Gomes, Rodriguez, Sigurdsson, Allan and Davies all competing for a spot.

Allan will be the main man in that midfield, he was everywhere yesterday. Spurs put in one of the worst midfield performances I've ever seen tho so I still hope he's more Lucas than Fabinho when facing an actual midfield

Their owner is Farhad Moshiri. He's not properly wealthy in his own right apparently (not relatively speaking to most), but 'close friend & business associate' is Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov, & that's where the bulk of their sponsorship etc is coming from, USM holdings.
