Should Rooney walk back in later?

Like I said I wouldnt play him but you could say he will get through on adrenaline.

He should walk back into the barber shop that fucked up his head and demand a refund.

He has to start IMO.

I think his presence gives the rest of the team a lift and a boost of confidence. I'd be doubtful that he, of himself, will be able to hit the ground running but he will certainly give the back four of Ukraine a few questions to think about. I think he'd need to come off at about the 55 to 60 minute mark (which will still take a strong decision) and bring Carroll on.

I'd do this. Carroll has been pretty good as a sub recently so I think he's a better option off the bench than bringing on a massively fired up, but possibly unfit and therefore hotheaded, Rooney if we are chasing the game.

I know we've had a bit of goodwill off of you non Englanders of late, thanks to hatred of Evra/Modo etc plus our new found humbleness.
So can we still count on your support this evening or has our goodwill run out now we might actually get out the group?
Modo obviously you are excluded.

I'm still gonna support Gerrard, Carroll and Johnson. Whether you like it or not.

Don't forget Downing.
To be fair they probably won't get a game in this tournament unless someone gets injured.
In Henderson's case, another game.

It's worrying that I completely forgot Downing, I thought long and hard for a few moments trying to remember all our players in the England team and couldn't think of Downing, says it all really.

Roy is proving to be an unikely saviour. Rooney justified his selection with a goal and England always looked dangerous on the counter. How immense has Gerrard been! Maybe he'll finally get the respect he deserves.

While Italy are tournament specialists, England have a great chance to put them out.

I don't hate England. Never really have...

Can't balance worshiping Stevie G 90% of the time, with baying for his abject failure every 2 years for a month...

That said, I love Italy, and hope they do you in the quarters. If you beat them, I hope you win it all - It'd be great to see Stevie raise that trophy.

I'd love to see Gerrard lift that trophy, but then I realise a certain former captain will as well.
