Reality is we don't know everything that's going on behind the scenes, we don't know as much about football management as Slot does (the first thing I learned when starting work at the club was that there was more I DIDN'T know than I DID) but we do know the eye test. It's painful watching Liverpool right now. And we do know that, for all his greater knowledge and experience, Slot and his team are massively under-performing. I'm not one for knee-jerk sackings but I've felt for a while now that he isn't going to turn it around.
We were so lucky with Klopp. Genuinely an all-time great manager and a great human being to boot, one who hung around until he was burnt out, and then left with our praise still ringing in his ears.
It's our duty as fans to stick with our club and support through thick and thin, but we don't have to eat whatever shit is served up for us every week and pretend it's steak and chips.
I think it's inevitable that he will go, and unless it's for reasons of lining up the right replacement at the right time, I really don't see the point in keeping him on when it's going so badly (I'd even support a caretaker at this point as I think they'd get a much needed bounce). But we don't need to be brutal about it. Thanks for last season, sorry but it's just not working, think we need to go our separate ways but we wish you every success for the future (as opposed to "thanks for the title now fuck off").
