Not sure he does. He has been absolutely bamboozled by the concept of a low block and quick, direct passing...

The same guy that thinks we won the league because PSG knocked us out the CL despite being 12 points clear? That guy? Well I never.

Would've been interesting to see the reaction had any poster here made that observation sooner, I reckon there's a good chance they would've been hunted down and executed.

Every manager faces these downturns. I don't think he has the self awareness to be able to fix it?

Why?
Talking down squaddies
Not presenting opportunities
Persisting with bad decisions
Defensive problems
No improvements in attacking fluency
CONTINUED Poor player passing in the final third
A coaching staff failing to inspire players.

I believe it was @Farkmaster or @keniget who said a year ago that we won't know how good Slot is until he goes through a bad spell. I don't think Slot has experienced anything like this in his career. Rafa and Klopp went through relegation and several bad spells.

Those lean spells teach you a lot in terms of what tactics to trust, how to react, how to react as a leader, when to be empathetic, etc. Slot is learning those at our club. Ideally, you learn those at other clubs and then come to us. We are too big a spotlight for a manager to "discover" himself.

IMO, that is why I am not a fan of "young wonderkid" managers who get a lot of hype - all of them appear to flame out.

If we were to to change now, it could only be for Xabi.
However, what happens if he struggles until the end of the season? We could end up even lower in the table.

Reality is we don't know everything that's going on behind the scenes, we don't know as much about football management as Slot does (the first thing I learned when starting work at the club was that there was more I DIDN'T know than I DID) but we do know the eye test. It's painful watching Liverpool right now. And we do know that, for all his greater knowledge and experience, Slot and his team are massively under-performing. I'm not one for knee-jerk sackings but I've felt for a while now that he isn't going to turn it around.
We were so lucky with Klopp. Genuinely an all-time great manager and a great human being to boot, one who hung around until he was burnt out, and then left with our praise still ringing in his ears.
It's our duty as fans to stick with our club and support through thick and thin, but we don't have to eat whatever shit is served up for us every week and pretend it's steak and chips.
I think it's inevitable that he will go, and unless it's for reasons of lining up the right replacement at the right time, I really don't see the point in keeping him on when it's going so badly (I'd even support a caretaker at this point as I think they'd get a much needed bounce). But we don't need to be brutal about it. Thanks for last season, sorry but it's just not working, think we need to go our separate ways but we wish you every success for the future (as opposed to "thanks for the title now fuck off").

We need Spurs to poach out title winning manager.

Spirit him away from under our watchful eyes. Revenge for Diaz! They deserve him more than we do.

I just want 3 points tonight, ideally with no significant injuries, but I'm ok with a sacrifice or two if that's what it takes.

Then do it again against Forest, West Ham, Wolves, Spurs, and Brighton.

It's going to be a bit hard if we have to make a sacrifice or two during each game though!

Time to bring in "The Caretaker"
