Nah, it's not Baros. If it was, the mannequin would be in the corner of the store with his head down.

Hahaha.

Fuck, it felt like I'd shout 'Milan, the goals the other way lad' & 'lift your fucking head up' every time I went the match back then.

From BBC news feed.

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona have negotiated a fee of of between 70 and 73m euros (£55.6m-58m) for the transfer of Uruguay striker Luis Suarez from Liverpool. The fee represents a reduction of 20m euros on the 27-year-old's buyout clause according to the paper.

Quick bit of google translate.

Barca made official in the next hours the definitive agreement for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez. As has been told Mundo Deportivo, Barca transfer available payable as an amount that ranges between 70 and 73 million euros, thus achieving a substantial reduction of the clause that the English club had teams that were not in the Premier League, which was 95 million euros. The downgrade is therefore 20 million euros.
Luis Suarez, which has been since the end of World waiting for the call from Barca, is right now in Montevideo waiting for the call from Barca. The club plans to make the deal official today, so the Uruguayan striker will move shortly to Barcelona for display.

Ha ha - What a crock 😕

if true, a drop of that amount on the buy out clause would be ridiculous. why have a buy out clause at all if not exercising it?

Media rumblings that the agreed fee in cash is 70M pounds. Not that this is a relaible source.

Luis Suarez is on the brink of officially completing his sensational transfer from Liverpool to Barcelona after the terms of a deal worth just over £70 million/ €88 million was agreed on Wednesday night, Goal understands.

The Echo have reiterated again today that it's £75m and will be done by the end of the week...

We should add a clause in the sale that if Barca in the future decide to sell him to an English club, then they have to pay us £30M extra on top of any sale they make. Further if Real Madrid come in then they need to add £40M to that fee.

Fifa has rejected Uruguay and Liverpool striker Luis Suarez's appeal against a four-month ban from all football-related activities for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini.

4month ban for barca it is then. Unless they go to CAS or something then, and piss FIFA royally off.

BeinSport confirming it's likely done, and he's gone. I feel ok about it. 75 Million Pounds /88 Million Euros. A semi-regurgitation of previous reports.

I'm telling you, without BR, SG and the Kop he'll be a different player..

GOAL
Luis Suarez is on the brink of officially completing his sensational transfer from Liverpool to Barcelona after the terms of a deal worth just over €88 million were agreed on Wednesday night.

The agreement comes after a week of negotiations between the clubs, with an announcement expected in the coming days - perhaps even within 24 hours.

Barcelona have captured Suarez in a straight cash deal after agreeing to meet the release clause in the Liverpool contract he signed last December.

It is believed that Suarez will undergo initial medical examinations from Barca doctors in his native Uruguay, where he has been staying following his country's elimination from the World Cup.

Officials from the Catalan club have been negotiating with their counterparts from Merseyside in the last week over the structure of payments in the deal, with Liverpool pushing for a higher initial sum.

An agreement has now been reached and the final formalities will be completed before Suarez is announced as Barcelona's marquee signing of the summer.

The 27-year-old is currently serving a four-month ban - which runs until October 26 - for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini while playing for Uruguay in his nation's final World Cup group stage match.

Under the terms of the suspension, Suarez is not allowed to train with his club or enter the confines of any stadium during his ban. He's also banned from playing FIFA 2014 on his console.

Barca will partly fund the signing of the 27-year-old by selling Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal. The Chile World Cup star will move to Emirates Stadium after Arsenal agreed a package worth €40m (£31.8m) with the Spanish club.

Liverpool will now look to strengthen their squad using some of the money from the Suarez deal. The Merseysiders are on the verge of completing a triple swoop for Benfica winger Lazar Markovic, Lille striker Divock Origi and Southampton defender Dejan Lovren.

88 mill.euros doesn't equate to £75 mill. I'll bet it doesn't even amount to £70 mill.

Edit: £69.85 mill.according to the online converter I used. Still, I guess that's three times what we paid for him.

I suspect that when he goes to barca, they'll never have a days trouble with him and he'll break some sort of fucking goal scoring/nutmeg record out there. But it is what it is. We were lucky to have him for a few years, and we'll be paid handsomely for him.

Looking at what Pepe and Diego Costa get away with he will have no trouble.

He can also call everybody negrito.

I think you're wrong here - unlike Owen or Torres, Suarez will run through walls (or shoulders) on the pitch. He doesn't need fans to drive him, he drives himself. The kids will to play football and win is on a different level - he'll be phenomenal with Barca. May not score 30 goals due to the team around him, but he'll be unplayable and probably bite Pepe's nose.

He'll definitely do better than those two types, but more like Ajax levels, than LFC. That's my story and I'm sticking to it 😉. I think the way we played, and with Steve G behind him, it really elevated his play. But I could be way off of course!

I'm gutted to lose him, but at least we're not getting completely dicked over the fee. Shame Sanchez didn't want to come to Liverpool as part of the deal. I hope he catches whatever Diaby has that makes him "injured" all the time.

One of these days I'm going to open this thread to see him in a barca shirt and feel a bit disgusted.

Then I'm going to open the other thread and see Sanchez in an arsenal shirt and feel worse.

I know what you mean, but in my case it'll last about ten seconds, then I'll remember what happened to Michael Owen and his career after he left.

Their loss. On we go.

He'll do well there since he's a fantastic player and a fighter.
He'll still have his behavioural issues since it's part of his personality, and opposition players will do their best to get him off the rails.
I can see him getting banned.

Gutted to see him leaving, but once he's gone he's gone, and will mean very little to me.
