So who do we want/expect/hope?

I absolutely hate the way people refuse to look at the circumstances and instead throw random stats and trophies out as arguments in favour and against their choice of manager.

it's retarded
what the circumstances tell you is that you are dealing with a man who knows what it takes to win in the best leagues in the world in multiple contexts, he can adapt to different styles, different teams (consistent winners and not so consistent (Roma), different countries to one effect: win. that's not a statistic, its undeniable evidence.

Yes, and you've neglected to mention he's managed one of the top teams each time ... He's managing a team that is maybe #6 in the league and has little to no money.

I remember his Chelsea team imploding.

Imploding? He's got as good a win record as di matteo yet he's the new messiah.

Besides, you try keeping a team together with that many cunts. It's an experience he'd learn from.

absolutely, this is a long term project not a project where the team is almost there (like jose arriving at chelsea or mancini arriving at city).

There hasnt been a club in our situation before. Every situation is different.
Looking at those who are good at winning trophies is a good starting point.

I don't think it is. All you're doing is looking at those who have worked in favourable circumstances.

That was the logic of Kenny - knows the league, wins trophies. The truth of it is he had a massive advantage in his first stint with us and when he managed Blackburn. When he didn't have it at Newcastle he did fuck all.

90% of being a good manager is about being in the right place at the right time.

So judge the manager based on how he did bearing in mind the circumstances he worked under, not simply counting trophies.

Tbh I hope not. His tactics and demeanour as England manager told me all I needed to know. Also his fondness of John Terry makes him a cunt by association.

his tactics for england were fucking shambolic, I want someone to explain that away.

Want Rafa. Will end up with Brendan fucking Rodgers or Paul Lambert. I swear if we hire either of them I am jumping off a bridge.

Ive already said id take Moyes. What do you want from me!!!

i think you are taking kenny leaving very personally. of course we are a top team. not THE top team, we are a top team.

BIG CLUB does not equal TOP TEAM. Barcelona are a TOP TEAM. Real Madrid are a TOP TEAM. Manure are a TOP TEAM. Juve are a TOP TEAM. AC Milan are a TOP TEAM. Bayern are a TOP TEAM. We aren't there. Maybe one day.

Dave, seriously mate. He won't be back under FSG. That's what I've been told by two reliable people now. Forget about it. FWIW id have him back before many of the names bandied about here

Lambert is a great shout. He's destined for a bigger club. Might be to soon though, but I'm extremely impressed by what he has accomplished.

He'll be on the list I reckon.

roma were 6th in the previous year capello took over - they had only won seria A twice in their history, capello came in and won it. a quick look through their transfers does not suggest he was bankrolled by abromavich of his time

Look at the squad he was given ... You had some world class players there. We may have Suarez and that's it. It's a big difference
