Are lettuces usually wet?

I know that they can be. Next time you buy a lettuce, try out a wee scientific experiment. Place it under a running tap and then examine.

I'll not spoil it for you, but I think you may find the results instructive.

Also, as lettuce is 95% water or something, you could say they are, in their very essence, wet.

I'm surprised , our resident lower league guru hasn't put forward Nigel Adkins. Back to back promotions and a Liverpool fan allegedly. Was born in Birkenhead.....

"Former Liverpool star Gary McAllister has told talkSPORT that he doubts if Roberto Martinez would be able to attract the players the club need to get back into the top four.
The Spaniard has managed Wigan for the last three seasons and despite battling at the lower end of the Premier League he has guided the club to safety in each of them.
Their recent form has been excellent and before the end of the 2011/12 campaign the Latics beat Man United, Arsenal, Newcastle and the Reds, adding to his rising stock.
And now Liverpool have been given permission to speak to the talented 38-year-old as they look to replace outgoing Kenny Dalglish.
McAllister, though, feels he may not have the ability to bring in the type of player the club needs to get themselves back into the Champions League.
“Roberto Martinez is up and coming, there is no doubt about that,” he told Kick Off. “The major thing that Martinez has got in his favour is the style of play, he’s very forward thinking, he’s quite inventive and I think that’s a plus.
“There is also the problem of whether he can attract the type of player that Liverpool need to get into the Champions League.
“I think it’s more in today’s game. I think in the past Liverpool was Liverpool but now I think that top players are attracted by top managers, managers that have been and done the distance.
“I’m a fan of Martinez, don’t get me wrong, but he’s battling away at the wrong end of the league for his entire Premier League career.”

Oh mamá, mamá, mamá
oh mamá, mamá, mamá
sabes por qué me late el corazón?
He visto a Rafa Benitez
He visto a Rafa Benitez
oh, mamá, enamorado estoy.

I wonder if they asked Kenny for his opinion on who to replace him?

To be fair Rafa is the best pedigree we could probably attract, he'd take less time to settle, and he should know the squad very well.

I don't think many people remember the anger and frustration toward Rafa in that last season. I don't think several have considered what just happened to a club legend two days ago, and whether you could all go through the heartbreak again when Rafa blames Henry for not giving him £70M to go buy Neymar and will instead bring Gretar Steinnson to the club to wreak his revenge over the lizard overlords.

That nobody Pardew seemed to manage ok to get that Cisse who lets face it would look good in City's team.

I think that is only maybe the case for already proven world class superstars who we could not afford anyway.

Suarez would have came to us even if Martinez was in charge IMO.

Oh, and you cant please some on here. The owners are getting the book thrown atthem for not thinking things through, and when they set up a short list of candidates and want to meetthem before hiring them, they get slaughtered aswell.. Cant win..

I'm guessing loads of international companies hire new top management without talking to them first.....
Oh wait..
