Yeah, but it's Chelsea. And we know what happened against them 5 years ago. The media will be reminding everyone in the build up to the game. Especially with symmetry of fixtures (same day that City played Palace).I'm not sure that's a worry, the crowd have watched us go behind & go on to win a lot this season. Remember Utd under Fergie, they'd go behind & I'd slump, cos I knew it'd wake them up & they'd just find a way to get the points no matter what. That's us now. fans have memories of Ian Wright screaming "What'd you have to go an annoy them for?!" after that scored against us & we just blew them away.
As soon as they came on I was sure we'd win. TAA was getting murdered and I had a lot of confidence that Millie would be stronger, added to which Hendo would be across to help out. And that LW, though very dangerous, was pretty much all they had. As it was Millie did far better in attack than TAA was doing (assist aside).Tremendous win. Milner and Henderson coming swung the match in our favour
I also want to add that although I generally hate Hendo in a defensive position he adds a lot more when attacking.
The 3rd goal was awesome, superb from Firmino to keep it in, turn his man, look up and then lay it on a plate, superb from Hendo to absolutely break a gut from midfield all the while pointing to where Bobby should lay it off. Perfection.
Seven, the answer's sevenEighty fucking two fucking points. How many times in the last 30 years would that win a title?
Hahaha. Love it.Redmond should have stuck to the textbook. Standard 7/10 defending should have sorted that one on one situation.

That celebration too...

It's fucking mental the way we're all thinking about the quarter final of the CL as a nice pressure free break, but we are! That was the best Henderson has ever played. Maybe he can be a decent impact sub.
Fucking brilliant win. Amazing.
At least we can chill and have a poxy quarter final in some shitty cup, rest a few and relax in the week.

Yeah, i'd rest Gini for it. Keita can have another go, alongside Fab and Hendo. Millie will obv be at LB.
I'd also be looking at getting Ox back into the team in both of those matches...
I tell yiz what... Bobby, after basically playing for them for 75 odd minutes, was fucking enormous in that win.
He made a wonderful defensive header / block on their corner just before we scored, that, had he not made, their big hairy center back would have scored, untouched from six yards out - He got a bit lucky with where it landed after he got the touch on it, but he had to be there to get the challenge in.
Then his run to draw Redmond off Salah was magnificent. It was as much a factor in the goal as was Salah's shot. Brilliant.
Then his run, control, skill and pass to Hendo for the third was obviously key in that goal.
He was shite for 80 odd minutes... But he might have ended up MOM for me.
I don't want TAA on the same field as Hazard, mate... I really don't rate him as a defender at all, and he's been diabolical for a lot of this season, including today - I'd go with Milner all day long for that match.
And yes, getting Joe back if we can would be wonderful, of course.
We need to beat Chelsea first to do that.
Almost 5 years to the day when the title race switched hands.
Sunday. Liverpool losing at home to Chelsea 2-0. Then Man City went on to beat Palace away immediately after 2-0.
This year, the order is swapped.
City play Palace first (a) and then we play Chelsea at home.
It would be sooooooooooooo sweet if 5 years on, the results reversed.
Palace beating City and us beating Chelsea. Written in the stars, hopefully.
