I was going to post how Salah is costing the league after missing more chances today, and then he set up a beautiful own goal (was it offsides?)

WOW -

MoTm? VvD ... 2 on 1 and he was brilliant to ensure Sissoko had to shoot.

We really really made this too difficult but we are the better team, and we willed another win today ... Normally, "I can't take this shit anymore" but fuck that, BRING ON THE NEXT GAME ... What a fucking feeling, this team is special.

Spot on, old pal. To answer your question: no, it wasn't offside - Mighty Mo was onside when the ball was played.

Got past the Spurs banana skin with three points. Huge relief for me. I thought that was it. Great determination to win. Back on top.

Cheers mate - I was celebrating so much with my boy I couldn't even bother with the replays, just screaming with him (probably woke up the other 3 lil ones but who cares? You live once!).

Huge huge relief indeed.
We could have put this gane to bed in the first half, but didn't and let them back in.

We totally lost the midfield in the second half. Hendo was the main culprit for me. And on top of that he let Kane take the free kick very quickly rather than delaying it. Fabinho should have been on much earlier at 1:0.
Gini looked very tired, and Milner also got tired.
Salah was poor. I couldn't believe it when he didn't pass the ball to Mane in that break.
Thank god for Virgil!

Anyway, Spurs are slipping down the table and may finish outside of the top 4. So here's hoping they take points at the Etihad.

Jammy as F. Players still not showin up. Attrocious mentality.

Delighted with the win, but really pedestrian in the final third AGAIN.

YES, the hallmark of title winning teams is wining ugly, blah blah.

But at some point, we're going to run out of luck if we don't take it up a notch.

BUT, brilliant to finally beat a top 6 team in a game that matters *this season*.

Robertson, what a save from that Eriksen shot

I love Virgil.

Best CB I've seen play for us.

If we win the league, give him the Ballon D'or.

Agree about Salah. He needs to come good soon. Seems more intent on winning the golden boot than the PL trophy

Nah, not having that.

We lost the midfield in the second half because the trio of Henderson, Wijnaldum and Millie isn't as good as Tottenham's midfield or the better teams' out there.

We know it and Klopp knows it. It's why he bought Fabinho and chased hard for Keita but I have no idea why he falls back to that trio in the big games this season.

It would have been on Klopp if we dropped points in this game.

Have you not been paying attention for the past 2 months, mate? He costs us 3 or 4 chances a game like that...

Away to Palace, Home to Spurs, Away to United. Those first two are after their CL games against Spurs and they're the ones I think they are most likely to drop points.

I actually think the Palace game is massive, it's right in the middle of FA Cup, CL and other big games, away to a side that is on the border of relegation. We need them to drop points in that one.

If Palace beat them again and we win #19, all will be forgiven Woy.

There's a pattern here. In previous seasons we've been poor after cl games & dropped points, & poor after international breaks & dropped points.

This season we are poor after both still, but are finding a way to win regardless.

Six games to go, three points is all that matters in each one.

I've said before I think 7 from 9 (Spurs Southampton Chelsea) would be a good return, & I stand by that, if we get all 9 though then I can see citeh buckling under the pressure of us refusing to let go of their coat tails.

Salah's still not showing up. That's going to be the difference for us.

He's still putting the effort in, his overall scoring record isn't actually poor and defenders are still scared of him. For me the problem is that he's overthinking stuff he did purely by instinct last season which, I suspect, is partly down to our somewhat different set-up this season, esp.him being played through the middle quite a lot.

I have. I think he's a good player, but nowhere near as good as last season might have suggested. And I suspect that his incredible goal scoring form of last season is costing him this season. The level of expectations is too high, and his appetite for scoring has grown too.
I hope he comes down to earth soon.

City have a very tricky April coming up.

It was important for us to win today to not allow them any breathing room.
