Stevie to miss start of new season?

I don't know if he'll be grand, but it's the least demanding season he's going to have had for a long time. If we're clever in how we use him he should last the season without any major time off.

Like Fabio I think Shelvey is the long term Stevie replacement, so I'd quite like to see him play when Stevie doesn't/

Indeed ross. Whenever Gerrard is injured or rested shelvey must start

Let's face it he's no spring chicken these days and he did tear 98% of the muscle away from the bone (must of been fucking agony). That would take anyone ages to get over and back up and walking normally, never mind to get back to the level of a professional footballer. He just needs a bit longer these days to heal.

Haha, I actually think its quite positive, that just in case things do go wrong we are putting a plan B in place for a change.

He said he hopes to be with LFC for another 4 years to get back level at least with MU

What a defeatest attitude, in 4 years we should be at least 3 ahead of them.

Yeah right

What are people seeing in Shelvey to make them believe he'll be Gerrard's long term replacement?
Seems very ordinary to me.

At least...

Stevie will be ready to rumble come the start of the season. Putting in 3 hours a day on holiday shows his drive and commitment to hit the ground running.

Stevie can have a monster of a season if he can get back to full fitness.
No European football next season means less pressure.

I really believe that he's hungry and ready to prove to people that he still is one of the best players in the world.
