Real paid £114m for Belingham
We paid if you include add ons £55m for Mac, £60m for Szoboszlai (worth ever penny) £16m for Endo and £35m for Gravenberch
a total of £166m
And remember... We were gong to spend another £100m on Caicedo before we bought Endo and Gravenberch which at the time rised to spending (£215M)

Jude and Szobozlai £174M and a great distance in replacing the short fall in goals that we will lose when we selling Mo

So we haven't improved upon Hendo and Fabs? We've stood still by bringing in 4 midfielders?

Did we not get rid of four midfielders I the OX,Keita,Henderson and Fabs?
So number wise we have only replace the same number that we have gotten rid of...

A inform Fabs knock Endo out of the park..
Same apllies to Mac vs Henderson
Keita vs Grav' that remains to be seen
Szoboszlai, it's a bit unfair on him, but anything is a improvement on the Ox

We seem every season to bring in players that are at the same level of those we had before or at a lower level. Never someone at the next level ie a Bellingham, a Rice for Fabs, while the teams around us improve on the player they get rid of most of the time
..

Think you may be misunderstanding what it is that I am say...

When Henderson and Fabs arrive at the club they were at a certain level, what it is that I am saqying is that Endo and Mac have arrive at the club and that they both are below that level,
At worst they should at least be at the same level as when we bought Henderson and fabs

Mac Allister today is better than Hendo when he arrived at the club. It's not even close.
Endo isn't nearly as good as Fab - I'll give you that.

Not as good as Fab at his best, but IMO he is as good as Fab was to begin with. Quite a few on here (though I wasn't one of them) were for selling Fab on a.s.a.p.
 
Our midfield is slightly worse than the last one was when fully realized, but that midfield also had a series of razor blades attached to a ceiling fan whirring around in front of it.

If our attack gets near as lethal as that it'll cover up whatever cracks are behind, and they won't even be detectable against most opponents.

I'm not fully sold on this team but it's definitely going in the right direction, and we definitely cleaned house well.
 
I'll be surprised if we dont add another midfielder that can play as a 6 as well. Andre in January would make sense given that Thiago seem to be dead.

Jude I was told is playing more as a 10 than a 8. He is also on £400k/w. I was never keen on Jude or Moises but Klopp wanted both but both chose rival clubs over us.
Scoring goals hasn't been the issue, it was the defence. We have Dom, who oozes confidence and class. Ali Mac isn't a 6 but is being asked to play as one. Gravenberch has been the surprise and will improve with more game time. Endo is improving with every game but if there's any regret, its that we didn't get a proper number 6 who is in early to mid 20s.
 
If we don't plan to extend Matip then Andre and a CB in Jan would be very sensible moves from the club.
 
Yep, I think our squad is looking pretty settled with Mac as the main six in the mean time and Szoboszlai and Gravernberch providing strong starts. A backup RB or long term Matip replacement could be on the cards if the opportunity pops up, but that seems less likely in January.
 
I'd still like a 6 in to free Mac a bit higher although it's not a necessity.....then again it's not a necessity to wait until summer for Thiago to leave to bring another midfielder.

Even if it's just to galvanize the squad for the 2nd half of the season, we saw what effect Gakpo had (when a lot of people said we didn't need him)....went on to have that 11 game unbeaten run.

It wouldn't be a disaster but it'd be nice to use the Jan window to at least bring in someone.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if Thiago never plays for us again.

Equally, knowing us, I wouldn’t be surprised is we offered him an extension.
 
Yeah thiago had a set back in recovery. I still think we need a specialist DM, rather than making do

Complete waste of a signing.

£25m and £40m in wages for a guy who’s available less than 50% of the time.

I believe that the £400kw was offered to convince him to sign for Real and that he would have taken less to sign for us, but felt that we were not serious about signing him... To be honest I am not sure about Endo and Gravenberch, but would love to be proven wrong on both counts

It's Ali Mac were my doutbs really lay. think he lacks real consistance in his play, and tends to lose the ball a lot
