We know we have a smaller budget than most so have to be careful on transfers. we went in for Lavia 6 weeks ago as he was viewed as back up to Fabinho. Around the same time Mbappe said he wanted out so Real need to stump up money now and possibly sell players.
Have we now dragged our feet because Tchouameni may become available who we know was first choice a couple of seasons as ago and therefore been reluctant to up the bid.

We have no indications that the player would like to give up and leave yet, after getting his dream move there.
And I understand him, as Kroos and Modric are being phased out. He is next in.

So, this is a pipe dream.

Depends if they think camavinga should go back to midfield. Might fancy valverde Jude and camavinga with tchou rotated in.

Honestly I know it's a pipe dream; I just want to hold on to something that means we aren't thick cunts

I don't know exactly how they set up, but would Jude not be further forward? And is it Valverde or that Rodrygo at right wing?
Or is Valverde set at right mid?

In any case, Tchou would surely stay another year at least to fight.

Of course, it’s probably bollocks but this guy does some writing / interviewing for bbc sport etc…

I'm also holding out hope that we have been toying with Lavia in case we can't pull the trigger for Tchou.

I mean we can dream the club has some long term plan to get him, but realistically he turned us down after we nearly won a quad. Since then he's had a front row seat in watching Madrid routinely better us. Now we're in the Europa League seems a bit of a stretch to think we can land him.

It makes sense we have a credible alternative to Lavia because Andre alone just doesn't add up, but if true I fear this smacks of the Bellingham situation all again. Dilly dallying around over a pipe dream.

Great, so now its Real Madrids fault. You guys do realize if RM domt want him, then there must be something not that great about him, and you lot want to pay 80M for him. Fuck that, rather we take the gamble on Lavia, who we can get now, and is cheaper and probably has a higher ceiling, and is ready.

It’s probably just they also have Kroos, Modric, Bellingham, Valverde and Camavinga and want money for Mbappe

They dont need money, its bollox, they are the original state funded club, dont care what people say.

I agree, they've had extremely low net spend, and have a lower wages to T/O than most large clubs. As no other club outside KSA will be willing to pay anything close to what Mbappe wants. They can just wait till Jan and probably pick him for £50m or free in the summer

I don’t actually think they want to sell him unless he’s kicking up a fuss, 2 of the big names in midfield are nearly done. Disagree with there being anything wrong with him, wasnt Fabinho a Madrid reject too?

I'm pretty sure this Tchouameni story is 100% true.

Because it's the kind of patented stupidity that we specialise in. Waste all our time waiting for a player that we can't afford and doesn't want to come, and let other clubs in sign all the good players that we need and could realistically get, before deciding that we don't want to pay more than £70 million pounds for the world's next best player. Rinse and Repeat.

He's fucking ace and I'm pretty sure only available for more than they paid.
