Jurgen Klopp. Fantastic coach. Great in developing a playing style. But does not have a clue about the principles of periodisation.

Liverpool again suffered double muscle injury blow last weekend (Lallana/Lovren). And they do not even have to play midweek European games.

Many injured Liverpool players withdrew from national team. Imagine how big injury crisis would have been if Liverpool had played in Europe?

It's important for young coaches to know there is a reason why Klopp is the manager who has lost the most cup finals at the end of a season.

Raymond Verheijen@raymondverheije 38 minför 38 minuter sedan
A lesson young coaches can learn from Klopp's mistake: Intense training is crucial to improve players but plan moment/amount very carefully.

Raymond Verheijen@raymondverheije 38 minför 38 minuter sedan
The fact that Klopp reaches so many finals proves he is a top coach. But a more extensive analysis shows his approach clearly has some flaws

Raymond Verheijen@raymondverheije 38 minför 38 minuter sedan
Unfortunately, top coaches like Klopp are often working in a tunnel & take little time to reflect & search for improvements and innovations.

Raymond Verheijen@raymondverheije 38 minför 38 minuter sedan
Because of Klopp's intense training & playing style, it's very likely the Liverpool players will struggle in the last months of this season.

It's normal the fans only look at the short term results. But young coaches should look at the underlying process and long term results.

Interesting fact about this cunt:

Verheijen was appointed to the position of Assistant Manager to the Wales national team in February 2011, managed at the time by Gary Speed and in March 2011 made the news for his use of Twitter.

Two weeks after the death of Wales' national team manager Gary Speed, Verheijen said that he would like to become the new Wales manager and continue Speed's legacy (he described it as "Gary's wish"). His comments courted controversy, Speed had been buried two days earlier and the comments were considered by some to be inappropriate. They were described as "selfish" by former Wales international Iwan Roberts.

In January 2012, he suggested that Wales should hire a foreigner as their new manager. On 19 January 2012, Chris Coleman was appointed Wales team manager as successor to his friend Gary Speed. Verheijen's contract was due to expire at the end of 2011, but he remained in the position until February 2012, when he resigned.

In December 2012 Verheijen criticised the FAW, stating that they had "destroyed" the "legacy" of Gary Speed. On 10 October 2015, Wales' qualification for UEFA Euro 2016 was confirmed meaning that Coleman had led Wales to their first tournament qualification since 1958.

It would be amusing if someone pointed out to the daft twat that periodisation was one of the things Klopp studied as part of his diploma course in sports science. This whopper also seems unaware there's a couple of the most qualified experts in the area on Klopp's staff.

Hmm didn't notice it earlier but is that Bellers on the front cover of both books?

Lol, his team's get to too many finals but get too tired /injured to play well in the final, itself ?

That doesn't explain how we didn't win the league cup last season..

Or why the highest intensity performance of to season came against Dortmund in what, thee last 8/12 weeks of the season

Why does anyone pay this Raymond fella any mind? His always jumping on the bandwagon when we have injuries. Somebody should tell the twat that is no way to get employed or even sell books.

Am I the only person going "what the fuck is periodisation?"

I can give a very rough attempt at defining it - as my rowing coach used to talk about it but to be honest i was of the approach of 'tell me what to train and i'll do it' without needing to take the time to understand why he was doing it.

Anyway - it was essentially saying you split your training in to phases both in the aim (e.g. strength, power, endurance) and build up the volume designed in a way to peak at the right points of the plan. For us it would usually be something like 3 weeks strength, 2 weeks power, 1 week endurance and 1 week taper which would then start again but with a bit more volume and total weight lifted.

That's exactly what I was just thinking. He seems to have had a pop at most big clubs over the last year or two. What's his end game? A job offer?

It's like sending your CV around with 'you're a cunt and know fuck all' written on the covering letter

Wijnaldum comes off with a hamstring injury whilst playing against France.

I wonder if this cunt will blame Klopp for that.

[article]While complaining about the rescheduled fixture calendar for December and January, Klopp said in Friday’s press conference that “some Dutch guy will say things” on Twitter if his players picked up an injury during the Christmas period.

As a result of the fixture changes, Liverpool have been left with less than 48 hours between playing Manchester City and Sunderland.

The Reds will now face City on Saturday 31 December before running out against the Black Cats two days later on Monday 2 January.

The German vented his dissatisfaction with the schedule, remarking that “I’m not too happy in this moment”.

But it was his hilarious dig against Verheijen that has drawn the biggest reaction.

“I don’t know if we can do anything,” Klopp said. “We have less than 48 hours between games. Then this Dutch guy, the funny athletic coach [Raymond Verheijen] says ‘training is not too good’…How can you prepare teams for this?”

“I would never say Boxing Day is a bad idea—I love it. But I don’t know why we play on Jan 2. Is it a special day?”

The German added: “Everybody asks why England aren’t too successful in big tournaments. All other countries watch English football at this time.”

Verheijen took to Twitter to respond to the German’s remarks.

“Liverpool manager Klopp cause 20 hamstring injuries in 10 months but keeps blaming external factors for injuries…”

The Dutchman has been vocal with his criticism towards Klopp in the past and last December tweeted 19 posts explaining what the German had done wrong at Anfield since arriving.

Verheijen tweeted: “It will be interesting to keep an eye on Liverpool in the upcoming weeks as they are about to hit an injury crisis under new manager Klopp.”

Despite his criticisms over the past year, Liverpool have enjoyed an emphatic start to the new season.

The Reds currently sit fourth in the league with an opportunity to go top on Monday should results go their way elsewhere.[/article]

It's interesting that Verheijen insists on targeting Klopp personally, without paying any attention to the fact that Klopp has highly respected fitness staff advising him. I haven't followed Verheijen's tweets in detail but appaz he's also been telling other clubs and managers what they're doing wrong as well. The guy is further up himself than the lifts in the Empire State Building.

Which is probably why he can't get a job coaching. He's so full of shit no one wants him to take up a role
