The new number 9…

Rodrygo+ Jonathan Davids = Diaz + Nunez. Would anyone be up for that?
I like the idea of Jonathan Davids, but not particularly that fond of Rodrygo. I know many people think Rodrygo is a big game changer but I don't see him in that light at all. I think he is pretty average player, and I don't see him as the type of player that can impact a game like the way Diaz is capable.

I was in your camp but they said they're keen to sell and he is an upgrade on Diaz and younger. Asking price is £80m but they could go down to £70m
Did I see somewhere that Davids said he doesn't like us?

In which case fuck him
I think its just hyperbole. He will be cheap and will work as decent rotation option

I honestly think our new regime will not go for Jonathan, as I think they are only interested in the highest quality of players or established European players who play for the national team (or are regularly selected).

On Rodrygo - what evidence is there that he is better than Diaz ?

1) His GA for RM is not that great is it ? - considering he players for a lesser league.
2) His is not that great for his national team despite the Brazil hype - which says a lot to me.

I just don't get why people are so hyped up on him, is it because of his great substitute performance that season when RM knocked out Man City from the CL at home when it looked like City were going to go through ?

Well… aren’t we the chumps going for those “highest quality of players”???

The sooner we get back to signing utter shite the better!!!

If diaz wants to go and we get £80m for him then Rodyrgo will be feasable
Rodyrgo has 24GAs to Diaz best ever season with 25GAs. If you are going for LW option and Rodrygo can play LW, then why not? The good thing is you and I don't decide as we have a 50/50 track record

Gyokeres and his agent at war with the Sporting president. The club wants close to the release clause and the president denies there is a gentleman’s agreement with a lower fee. Can see why nobody have tried to sign him yet.
It was Hugo Viana the new Citeh liar Football Director who apparently negotiated that. He'll fit in fine at Citeh.

It's not "hyperbole" at all. He said it in so many words, "I just don't really like Liverpool", before we played Lille in a Champions League tie a few months ago. As for "cheap rotation option", we spent decades buying cheap rotation options and getting nowhere with them before Klopp arrived.

3rd highest goal scorer in France available for signing on fee and a salary of about £140k versus £80m, 100m 120m. The market is crazy! Even Goncalo Ramos who is surplus to requirements at PSG are asking for £55m

Believe Virgil said similar before. It doesn't really bother me. Players are professional. They grow up hating you, then they learn Spanish in 2 weeks. Maddison hated Spurs too.

Anyway, I have a feeling Jonathan David prefers a move to Italy somehow.

If he’s not the right player in terms of skills, ability and fit for what we want for the team, then it doesn’t matter how cheap he is, he’ll cost us more the cost signing the right player.

I think he's a very-good-not-great player that could function in the Jota role for us. And reading that assessment of him, he has a lot of the same strengths Jota does other than deadly finishing with his head. (That said, he scored a spectacular headed goal for Canada this past week.)

Signing him on a free and selling Jota makes all too much sense imo. We should still be in the market for another striker but upgrading our depth option at a reasonable price is a good idea.

I'd be up for that.

Quite honestly, if this German kid is half what he seems to be, I'm not sure that it's gonna take an enormous upgrade at striker to see us banging more goals in... I still want the position improved upon, but we won the league with a donkey and a corpse as is, and the chances are only going to be more plentiful and probably clearer now. F@#$ing roll on, next season!!!

I just don't think the club are going to do a 12 month loan for anyone. Under FSG, we only use loans in an emergency and we're far from that, so is a non starter. It's funny Duran can only handle six months there, though. It's another poor look for the Saudi League.

Just coz I said High Quality, does not mean that I personally think they are high quality. Compared to players of the past this new generation are so average I just cannot understand the price tags... I need to start a new thread ..... I need emotional support about these signings.

Look at Hendo, didn't last long. The country will be a culture shock especially if your young and like to party, drink and sleep around. I am not saying Duran does any of that but we know players like to live it up. I would take Duran for year, what the club does is anyone's guess as they play their cards very close to their chest

You're right about the culture.

However FSG have been here 15 years. In that time there's been three players signed on loan. Caulker, Kabak, and Melo. All acts as desperation in a crisis. They won't be sanctioning a 12 month loan for Duran, IMO.

Cissokho, Manquillo and Moses all say hi!!

Oh and Nuuuuuuuri.

We are getting linked with Osimhen... I honestly hope it doesn't happen. I don't like his behaviour and there's something about the guy, that puts me off so much so, I haven't really paid any attention to him. I would rather we go into the season with what we have now.
Hughes, just get Konate signed upto a new 4 year contract and start selling players we have enough strength to be up there until Jan. If Quansah goes then add strength to defence

Ok… who exactly is linking us either Osimhen?
