The race

I imagine a lot of former players and staff will be around the city at that time, pretty normal that they would be, a lot of them are still fans.

Don't know why anybody would be against offering the team from 5 years back a place in this parade too... Why not? It wouldn't diminish from the achievements of this year's team, and it would give us a chance to celebrate them as well. After all, they're both LFC champions.

Because this years parade is for this years team and manager. That would be like Houllier entering the dressing room after Istanbul.

Then 2019 2020 team were better and probably more deserving champions. They deserved a parade but giving them a spot in this years parade would be a bit cringy. Sometimes life is unfair and you just learn to get on with it.

No it wouldn't. Not at all.

You're right that life is often unfair, but in this instance, we could correct that injustice by doing this, and I'd be stunned if any of the current team or staff had a single issue with also celebrating the achievement of that team as well. They're all LFC champions, they're all worthy of the adoration they'd receive.

As Momo says up there, maybe at St. George's, rather than on a bus, but I'd fucking love to see Bobby and Milly and Gini and the now departed team of 2020 hailed by their fans, too. It in no way would diminish from this team's celebration, in fact, for me, it would add to it... It would be a very Liverpool thing to do, in my mind.

But you're not going to agree with me, so no need to continue. Either way, enjoy the title and enjoy the parade. YNWA.

When Clare won the all Ireland in 2013, the members of the last Clare team that won it (in 1997) were stewards at the parade ( I know as I worked with Conor Clancy from the 97 team at the time).

Give Klopp, the flabby melt and the rest of them hi vis jackets and be done with it.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned how winning the league is now out of our hands.
I mean, if Arsenal lose tomorrow night, there's nothing we can do about it.

Yup, I don't think arsenal are taking every single point for the remainder of the season.
We have already surpassed their total for the season.

Fuck City. Hope they get relegated.

Man, I've got championship fever right now.

We have every chance to finish on 90+ points though. If they can do it, this will enhance the reputation of this team, IMO.

What would actually be really funny… is if we did lose every game and Arsenal win every game…

… and we still won the league on goal difference!!!

That’s how you properly break Arsenal fans!!!

If we lose all our games 1-0 and Arse win their's 1-0 then our GD advantage would just be +1. It only takes us conceding one extra goal or them scoring one extra and we are fucked.

Its no over & I'm nervous as fuck

fucking not

The difference in GD now is just 10 which would be wiped in... so yeah why t f are we even contemplating 5 defeats?

Just have Endo, Grav, Virgil, Mac and Konate pass the ball to each other for 90 minutes against Chelsea if we have to

The last time Liverpool fell into a five-game losing hole in any competition, home or away, was nearly 72 years ago – at the very start of the relegation season of 1953-54.

DateVenueOppositionScore
29 Aug 1953Burnden Park (A)Bolton Wanderers0 - 2
02 Sep 1953St James’ Park (A)Newcastle United0 - 4
05 Sep 1953Anfield (H)Preston North End1 - 5
07 Sep 1953Molineux (A)Wolverhampton W.1 - 2
12 Sep 1953White Hart Lane (A)Tottenham Hotspur1 - 2

That five-match slide (29 Aug – 12 Sep 1953) is the most recent instance of the Reds losing five on the spin in any run of games. They actually extended the misery to seven defeats in eight before finally stopping the rot two weeks later.

The 2020-21 wobble you’ll remember so vividly? Brutal at Anfield (six straight home losses) but punctuated by away wins – so it didn’t reach five defeats in total succession.
